Hello, is it possible to scale the secondary related to the primary x/y-axis? I want my autoscaled plots to show one scale on the primary y-Axis and a related scale (in my case a proportional relation) on the secondary y-Axis. An example to make it clear: on the primary axis should be "Pressure in bar" and on the second axis "Pressure in psi". (and I am not even asking about °C and °F) If this is not possible, is it, instead, possible to read the autoscale information back to a user-defined variable so I can do the whole thing "manually"? Is there maybe another workaround? Thanks, Stephan Bowe |

Then you'll have to either patch that 'trpr' program, or splice in another filter that prepends a 'set yrange' commands before the output of 'trpr'. |

Hey guys, I have a slight problem. I am using the following command: mgen input traffic.mgn output /dev/stdout | trpr drec real auto X | gnuplot -noraise -persist To pipe real time traffic results going over a net to gnuplot for a graphical representation. However the y scale jumps about all the time making it pretty useless and hard to understand! Can someone tell me how I can fix the y scale please? I've tried things like set yrange [ 0 : 100 ] but they obviously can't be applied like this at the command line... 'pause mouse' does not really help because I would like to use the mouse for zooming - when I try to terminate on a keystroke I need to use reread, which only works on loaded files, but I am talking from the pipe... I wonder what the natural setup would be for using gnuplot in a subprocess.... |

Hi, I'm trying to produce a 2-D plot, and would like points distinguished by different shades of grey (different symbols only is not an option). The terminal should be postscript enhanced. I have searched the web and list archives for quite a bit now, but I have not found anything (except related to splot / palette). If this has already been discussed, please point me to the relevant messages. Thank you very much for your help, Till |

Hi, I am very new to gnuplot and its quite fun! Currently trying to integrate it with another command line application I already got the mouse working... :) I read somewhere you have to put set mouse in .gnuplot So I am actually talking to gnuplot with a pipe from a c program, which wants to show a series of plots in succession, (restarting gnuplot again and again). Currently, I am using something like sleep 3 in this c loop to be able to see the plot. I like the q key in x11 to close the plot -- my question is, if there is a way to actually quit the gnuplot process using this key. Then I could choose as a user how long I want to look at a plot, zoom in etc and then hit q to see the next one... My c program uses waitpid then... Thanks for any hints, cheers, Kilian |

H o t stcok aler t. This one is still climbling the sotck cha rts ale rt Breaking maarket news report - TQW W. P K Lookup: TQW W. P K Compaany Name: Tayolr Aquaponcis Wroldwide, Inc. Recently ttrading for: 0.40 6 Week Target: 1.25 6 Month Target: 4.97 Rating: Immediate b uy Expected: Steadily climb for the top Our featured commpany TQW W is a “Big Fish” in what so far has been a little pond. But all of that is going to change when Wall Street sees the growth they’re experiencing. Whether you love fish, or vegetables, or don’t care for either one, TQ WW needs to be on your plate! Succeess has already happened for Tailor Made Fish Farms, the original comppany behind TQW W, as you can see by the stories on this page. Do your research, and find out why we think TQ WW could increase as much as 400% or more in the next few weeks. If you’ve been fishing for a great opportunity, O TCPK: T QWW could be the best deal you’ve ever hooked! Talior Aquaopnics Worlwdide, Inc. (OT CPK: TQ WW) has developed an easy to operate, land-based modular fish production system that is both sustainable and environmentally responsible. Production of ‘year-round’ premium quality fish and vegetables is achieved through compact and controlled production areas using much less water than conventional methods resulting in two crops from a single water uptake. This efficient combination of T QWW's fish & vegetable production has two major advantages: We see the possibility of a 250% rise in the very near future, and more may come after word spreads. Go with the flow – and bu y T QWW when the “tide” is low, then just wait for it to come in! Huge monney from a ccompany that satisfies ecological needs – there’s something you don’t see very often. T QWW is primed for huge international growth in the very near future, and as one of the most well-known players in the aquaponics field, T QWW will bring its inndustry to new countries (and new investorss!). It seems like making monney with Aqupaonics is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel…and now you can ride the wave with T QWW! Don’t delay – do your research on TQW W and contact your brroker iimmediately! The time to get in on this great fish story is now! Taiolr Aqauponics Wolrdwide, unlike many of its competitors, already ssuccessfully operates a commerccial scale food production system. The upside for Aquaponics is uncharted, but huge revenues are already being derived from a Tailorr Aquaponnics combined Fish Farming/Vegetable Farming venture in Australia. The research shows us that this is a sstock we want to acquire – and acquire a great deal of – before more news makes it across the Pacific. Remember, TQ WW is on tracck for increasess of 250%, 400% or more, but not many people know about it yet. That’s why you need to do your research and make your p l a y today! Hm, try instead of using 1855, 1854. As you want already plot 1855th line. How does your 1854th line look like? Is line 3257 the last in your file? if not use every ::1854::3257 Anyway, I don't see a formal mistake in your command line. Try a small file with ten lines to plot and then skip a few lines at the beginning. increase the number of lines and see, whether there is a limit in gnuplot. I doubt it but you never know. Are all columns separated with a comma? Or is it just between the 3rd and 4th? Then you should first change the comma into a blank (i.e. awk) and then u 3:4 . Hope that helped, even though it's hard to tell. Hi! I'm not pretty sure if I understand what you have to do. But to set ranges in your plot you could do the following: gnuplot> set datafile separator "," gnuplot> plot [x1:x2][y1:y2] 'SM1_16-20ppm-2mVps-1.txt' u 3:4 w lp where the 1st pair of brackets is to set ranges for the x-axis and the 2nd one is to set ranges for the y-axis. For additional information, try gnuplot> help set xrange and gnuplot> help plot Observe you can replace "using" by "u", "with" by "w" and "linepoints" by "lp". See help plot too. I hope this helps. Dear Mr. Herzl,
this is something you have to do outside of gnuplot. Depending on the OS in=
=20
use (linux, windows ...) this can be done with system tools (awk, perl ... =
on=20
linux) or you have to install some tool that can do this for you (perl / aw=

for windows ...)
Take care

Dear friends,
I am new user of GNUPLOT. I use GNUPLOT to drawing the maps of fields. =
The data are in the matrix form.=20
Unfortunately; data should be in the interval <0.000025; 0.00025> in =
order to remain away of extremes.
Values should be modified using function =
min(max(0.000025;value);0.00025).
It is possible in GNUPLOT? Please, can you help me?
Best regards RNDr. =

Just installed gnuplot 4.0.0 on a Linux system (HP Desktop). 'make check' failed due to terminal type being "unknown" I have made sure XFree86 with X11 support is loaded on this machine. When I build gnuplot and run gnuplot I do not get a terminal type "x11" option (or "png" for that matter). The terminal type comes up "unknown". Any suggestions (what did I mess up)???? Karl |

How can I do this? Bold is essentially part of the font name, in Postscript. So use= =20 enhanced syntax to select a bold font. |

| The sampling rate of functions, or for interpolating data, may be
| changed by the *Note samples:: command.
|
| Syntax:
| set samples <samples_1> {,<samples_2>}
| show samples
|
| By default, sampling is set to 100 points. A higher sampling rate
