You didn't follow the README, so you didn't pay attention to what ./configure printed. So you missed the warning about lack of X11 headers and libraries. You'll have to install the X11 development packages. |

$cat hangs.gpi
set terminal postscript eps enhanced color 30
set output 'hangs.eps'
set ylabel '@^{\^}c^{\ m}(t)/ @^{\^}c^{\ m}(0)'
plot x
$gnuplot hangs.gpi
This generates the hangs.eps that is attached in this email. I am using
Debian Etch, gnuplot 4.0.0-5. When I view this hangs.eps in gv, the system
is hanging. Is this a bug in gv, gnuplot? I have used this file on an old
system and it used to work fine then. However, when I recently tried it
out, it is hanging.
Any ideas on how to overcome this problem?
thanks

Hi,
I am attempting to set the margins with a 3d plot. The plot contains too much white space. I was trying to alleviate this with the 'crop' command. But when I request it in the png terminal, I get this error
gnuplot> set term png crop
Terminal type set to 'png'
expecting: {small, medium, large},[no]transparent, or {monochrome, gray, color, [xRRGGBB] }
This is version 4.0 patchlevel 0 and according to the documentation, this should not be a problem.
What am I doing wrong?
How do I size the graph within the plot area using splot?
Thanks in advance,
Mike Bergin

A classical example for scripting gnuplot from the outside. E.g. if you
choose the shell as the outside scripting language, something like the
follow should do it:
for f in *.dat ; do
out=`basename $f .dat`.png
gnuplot <<\EOF
set term png
set out "$out"
plot "z2.dat" u 1:4 w l lt 3, "$f" u 1:(6.6e-18*$2) w l lt 4
unset out
EOF
done

Hey, i have a folder with about 1000 .dat files and would have to do the following with all of them: set out "data1.png" plot "z2.dat" u 1:4 w l lt 3, "data1.dat" u 1:(6.6E-18*$2) w l lt 4 where data1 is the name of a single file. It is important that the png picture is saved under the name of original file. I am on Ubuntu Linux. Hi bittersweet, i think this answer is bit late but better than never ;). in order to have that "dynamic" effect , i remember using an interface for c called "gnuplot_i" which is based on unix pipes. For more info check out the gnuplot homepage. It's easy to handle, a bit tricky sometimes and creates lots of data files under /tmp :P. Hope it helps, Umut On Thu, 2007-05-03 at 20:04 -0700, bittersweet wrote: > Hi. > > I think you misunderstood my question. > I dont want it to rotate in slow motion but to draw the graph in slow speed. > For example, sin(x) in 2D plot, I want to see the sin(x) itself being drawn. > Meaning at the start of the plot, the plot is empty and as time goes by, > sin(x) will be drawn slowly. > Is that possible to do in gnuplot? |
