All the samples tend to assume that you are working from a data file where the header row contains the labels for each piece of the stack. That is not the case in my situation. I want to supply the labels from each stack in the script. Dear all. Can anyone with experience on how to create animation based on outputs from gnuplot please show me how to do it. My problem is as follows: 1) I have multiple gnuplot files that represent a specific point in time. 2) Each file can be indepedently viewed using gnuplot, or otherwise be written to a postscript (ps) file to be viewed using an appropriate program such as ghostview. 3) However I want to join all these files together to one single animation file, but I'm not sure how. I've previously tried to convert the ps files to gif files, and then created an animation out of these files. Unfortunately the quality is very low. Probably during the conversion from ps to gif, alot of information is lost. Anyone with a better solution please let me know. Of course that's not going to give the area. But I'm interested in knowing if there's a way as well. In excel I do a trapezoidal integration sum(i) ((x(i+1)-x(i))*(y(i+1)+y(i))/2) . months ago I issued a request to visualize the traffic of a small bus
network. At that time that was preparation for a project ahead, which
now has to be worked upon.
The task is this:
I have a list, each line contains a pair of bus stops, represented by
cartesian coordinates and a number of passengers travelling between
these two stops. Thomas was so kind to propose a solution for this
issue, unluckily I could not make it work up to now. The suggestion
was the following:
set terminal aqua font "Times,5"
number_of_busstops = 271
plot "FGZ.xls" using 2:(my_lw=$1, 0/0) every 1::0::0 notitle, for
[i=1:number_of_busstops] "" using 2:(my_lw=$1, $3) every 1::(i-1)::i
with lines linetype 1 linewidth my_lw notitle
Using gnuplot 4.2.5 on a Mac I get this result:

Is there a way to place a 2D plot on one of the planes formed by two of the three axes used in a 3D surface plot? I would like to create such a 2D plot simultaneously with a surface plot in 3D. Incidentally I just purchased the book "Gnuplot in Action" by Janert. It is excellent and has already saved me hours of searching the web. I wrote a script to read from protein data bank and to draw molecular graphics in 3D based on Gnuplot. The molecular structure can spin on screen. It is pretty cool, but sometimes an object in the background may cover other objects in the foreground. I know this is stretching the capability of Gnuplot, but if something can be done about this, Gnuplot will perform at a different level. Zhong |
