Hi Is there any existing document or tutorial that help me how to generate graph using gnuplot from jmeter output? Thanks! -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Anyone-have-experience-generating-graph-from-jmeter-output-%28jtl%29-file--tp31189502p31189502.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hello. My name is Dmitry Jaworski, I am a student of physics at Warsaw University. I am currently engaged in processing of experimental data for my master's work. The data-processing program I use is gnuplot. I would like to ask you if it is possible, when fitting, to establish certain relationships between parameters. For example: for the fitting, I use a function f (x) = a + b * x and parameter 'a' must be > -3b (larger than -3b). I'll be very grateful for the help. Sincerely. D J |

then you are using an older version of gnuplot. see help set terminal png for the allowed options. fretagi wrote: > > got the following error: > > gnuplot> set terminal png fontscale 0.8 > ^ > line 0: invalid color spec, must be xRRGGBB > > > > > > Thomas Sefzick wrote: >> >> yes, >> either for the whole plot >> >> set terminal png fontscale 0.8 >> >> or for the x-tics >> >> set xtics font ",10" >> >> >> fretagi wrote: >>> >>> Hi >>> >>> Is it possible to reduce the size of font in x axis? >>> >>> >>> >>> Thomas Sefzick wrote: >>>> >>>> do you use both? >>>> >>>> set xtics 2*60 >>>> set format x "%H:%M" >>>> >>>> >>>> fretagi wrote: >>>>> >>>>> with set format x "%H:%M" does work, but it overlaps >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> Thomas Sefzick wrote: >>>>>> >>>>>> add >>>>>> >>>>>> set format x "%H:%M" >>>>>> >>>>>> >>>>>> fretagi wrote: >>>>>>> >>>>>>> Hi >>>>>>> >>>>>>> Still not working fine because now the x axis data is showing 20:00 >>>>>>> 22:00 24:00 26:00. 'smooth frequency' makes the data monotonic, but x-values which are not in the data file are not taken into account. how should gnuplot know which x-intervals you prefer? just add a dataline for each date you want to show up in the plot with a y-value of 0 into the datafile. jm...@ho... wrote: > > Hello, > > I read a data file > http://old.nabble.com/file/p31176123/power.dat power.dat > > I would like to see the summorization of the values in the last column per > day. > via: > set term png enhanced size 1280,1024 > set title "Power Measurement per day" > set xlabel "Date" > set ylabel "kWh" > set autoscale > set xdata time > set xtics rotate > set timefmt "%d/%m/%Y " > set format x "%d/%m" > set terminal png > set output "kWh_per_day.png" > plot "power.dat" using 1:7 axis x1y1 title 'kWhpp' smooth frequency with > fsteps > > I get: > http://old.nabble.com/file/p31176123/kWh_per_day.png kWh_per_day.png > > So I expected a value for 11/2/2011, 0 for 12/2/2011, 0 for 13/2/2011, 0 > for 14/2/2011 , a value for 15/2/2011, a value for 16/2/2011 > > But in the graph i see values for days who have no data record. > > Please advice, > Jeroen. > -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/summorizing-data-per-day-not-working-tp31176123p31176290.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

I have a datafile with three columns: x-value y-value color where color is an integer representing a simple color (i.e. black, green, red, etc.). I've looked through the documentation, looked at demos, forums, and tried many variations of pm3d, splot, and plot with lt, but have been unsuccessful. If anyone has any idea how to do this so that all the data can remain in one file, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Edward |

It isn't quite clear what you want but you might be looking for the command splot. Try 'help splot' and have a look through the demos. John |

And where in the documentation did it make you think that was the way to plot a datafile with gnuplot? You're supposed to use that file as the argument to a 'plot' or 'splot' command. You'll really have to start with the documentation before you jump off the deep end like that. |

That's it, John. Thanks! Both of the pdfcairo and epslatex terminals produce good results from the Gnuplot terminal when I terminate the instructions with "set output". Hi, I new to gnuplot and have managed to plot my 2d data set on a scatter graph but as there is so much data that the density relationship between the two variables is lost into one big blob of colour....is there anyway of creating a density colour ramp in order to show the density of plots within my data? i;ve looked all over the internet and not had much luck. if anyone is familar with ENVI i want to try and achieve the same affect as the 2d density slice on that?..any help would be really appreciated thanks -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Gnuplot-2d-density-colours-tp31107857p31107857.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

I am having a problem with the gnuplot terminal in Gnuplot 4.4.2.
I wonder if anyone has an idea why.
Here is the problem. First I apply gnuplot to a simple script file from
bash:
$ gnuplot test_pdfcairo.np
The result is a good "test_pdfcairo.pdf".
The script file "test_pdfcairo.np" reads
#!/usr/local/bin/gnuplot
set term pdfcairo
set output "test_pdfcairo.pdf"
test
So far so good. Now I open the gnuplot terminal and execute the same
instructions from the terminal:
$ gnuplot
G N U P L O T
Version 4.4 patchlevel 2
...
gnuplot> set term pdfcairo
Terminal type set to 'pdfcairo'
Options are ' size 5.00in, 3.00in '
gnuplot> set output "test_pdfcairo.pdf"
an empty "test_pdfcairo.pdf" is created
gnuplot> test
supposedly "test_pdfcairo.pdf" is filled with the "test" pattern
Unfortunately the new "test_pdfcairo.pdf" is no good. When I try to
open it with Adobe Reader I get the message
There was an error opening this document.
The file is damaged and could not be repaired.
Apparently there is nothing wrong with the pdfcairo terminal in
Gnuplot, but I cannot use the pdfcairo terminal from the
Gnuplot terminal.
I have the same problem with the epslatex terminal in Gnuplot.
When I run
gnuplot> set term epslatex color colortext
gnuplot> set output "test_epslatex_output.tex"
gnuplot> test
the resulting "test_epslatex_output.tex" has no chance of working.
The crucial closing lines
\gplbacktext
\put(0,0){\includegraphics{test_epslatex_output}}%
\gplfronttext
\end{picture}%
\endgroup
are missing. The "test_epslatex_output.tex" file is bad as well.
Many lines are missing at the end, and the image is incomplete.
Executing the same instructions from bash
$ gnuplot test_epslatex.np
produces valid "test_epslatex_output.tex" and
"test_epslatex_output.eps" files. And the line
input "test_epslatex_output"
in an appropriate LaTeX script produces the desired test picture.
Any ideas as to the cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Vic

Whether or not you can plot dashed lines depends on the terminal.
For example I often use the epslatex terminal. The Gnuplot commands
set term epslatex color colortext
set output "test_epslatex_output.tex"
followed by "\input{test_epsoutput}" from in an appropriate LaTeX script produces a PDF of the epslatex test picture. Most of the lines in this picture are dashed or dotted. For example the lines 0 through 9 are all different and 9 of these are dashed and/or dotted. Here is the test picture.
On the other hand the commands set term pdfcairo set output "test_pdfcairo.pdf" produces a PDF file with only line type 0 dotted. There are no dashed lines possible. Here is the test picture.

Hello all It would be rather useful if the current filename was available from within a gnuplot script. This suggestion was raised in 2008 and 2009 respectively: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.graphics.apps.gnuplot/browse_thread/thread/2b34fa67a0365173/8f8c63c891f59aeb?lnk=gst&q=%22current+filename%22#8f8c63c891f59aeb http://groups.google.com/group/comp.graphics.apps.gnuplot/browse_thread/thread/781545ccfbaada56/ebffa12161a37fe3?lnk=gst&q=%22get+filename%22#ebffa12161a37fe3 And, AFAIK, has not been resolved. One approach might be: assume the file 'myfile.gp' contains the lines: myfile = GPVAL_LOAD_FILE print "myfile = ", myfile then entering the command: load "myfile.gp" would display either of the following -- the first being a simple echo and the second being the canonical file path: myfile = myfile.gp myfile = /path/to/myfile.gp On termination, GPVAL_LOAD_FILE would be unset. Another approach (probably too late) would have been to have the 'call' command assign the filename to $0 in line with most other shell positional variable conventions. If there is a work-around, that would be good to know. best wishes Robbie --- Robbie Morrison PhD student -- policy-oriented energy system simulation Technical University of Berlin (TU-Berlin), Germany University email (redirected) : mor...@ie...
