[Gnuplot-info] 2-D color scatterplot using gnuplot v 4.0 patch 0

I have a datafile with three columns:

x-value    y-value    color

where color is an integer representing a simple color (i.e. black, green,
red, etc.). I've looked through the documentation, looked at demos, forums,
and tried many variations of pm3d, splot, and plot with lt, but have been
unsuccessful. If anyone has any idea how to do this so that all the data can
remain in one file, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
