So this yet another failed attempt, is it? Firebird site-administrators may be fine in QA but seem to lack any kind of interest in improved promotion of FB. Hi Lester, Unfortunately, Firebird's is not the only affected tracker. It seems that spammers have develop a range of "tools" to create new tracker items and add comments to existing one. Beside JIRA, they also have "port" for Trac, and who knows what else. I'm subscribed to many trackers, and it's spam everywhere. Hello Helen, > FWIW, the index.php script that you had in manual/pdf was not the same as the one currently in prerelease. I've now replaced the various old versions in these trees with links to the latest script: download rabbits/helebor (rabbits itself has the standard index.php that kicks you back to the web root) devel/doc subtrees: libs, tools, manual, papers, refdocs, rlsnotes The 'original' new script is now in /var/www/html/scripts, because this is easier to link to then /var/www/html/devel/doc/manual/pdf. So if you want to turn on indexing in a directory: ln -s /var/www/html/scripts/index.php . Or, if the parent already has a link ln -s ../index.php . >> BTW, talking about indexes: we used to have (automatic) indexes off in the server config. >> Do we want this on or off? > Off, I think. At least my (often faulty) understanding is that we explicitly index directories that are meant to be accessed via http (such as prerelease and its children) and prevent access to the rest. OK, I've turned it off again. Cheers, Paul Vinkenoog |

If anyone is playing about with our HTTP server, perhaps trying to crack the security layer, then PLEASE STOP DOING IT. In recent hours, our httpd error logs have taken over all of our available disk space which means we can no longer write to disk. We know you mean well but it's enough trouble to be the object of enemy fire, without being subjected to friendly fire. If anyone needs access to the webserver, please contact us via firebird-admins AT lists dot sourceforge dot net, informing us of what you need it for, and it will be set up for you. Thank you. Expect more gaps as Sean tries to resolve some new problems that have appeared. Helen |
