Odd that we have to go back to Yahoo Classic to make it work when Ravi specifically stated that it will only work with the 'new' version. Up until just now I'd been using this with fetchmail until a fix was posted. http://www.khimhoe.net/2009/06/20/how-to-enable-pop3-in-yahoo-mail/ Chris -- Chris KeyID 0xE372A7DA98E6705C |

Thanks Chris, I did have a good vacation, but back to the grind now. Robert Jansen sent me the following link containing instructions which he says work for using POP3 with Yahoo mail (regular accounts not premium). http://www.khimhoe.net/2009/06/20/how-to-enable-pop3-in-yahoo-mail/ I thought I'd forward this as it may be of interest, especially if fetchyahoo breaks again. I won't be using this and don't trust it to work for too long though. POP3 holes like this in the past have eventually been plugged. Cheers, Ravi. Thanks Jon ! I just got back from vacation and haven't had the time to do the debugging and analysis you did. With your explanation I've patched the latest version and released 2.13.7 which now WorksForMe . I got it working with 2.13.6. Here are my changes: In the following lines, just change
to
Lines 2275, 2286, 2287, 2288, 2289. For example, 2275 will look like this: if ( $message =~ /
(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
/ms) I think you can probably change it to if ( $message =~ /<table id="message_view_full_header"\s.*>(.*?)
.*?
(.*?)
/ms) instead, but my RegEx-Fu is not that strong. My fix does work, but of course it will break if they ever modify that
element again. > I would think that you'll have to manually move the missed messages from > your archive folder using Yahoo's web interface, and then download with > fetchyahoo without the --newonly option. > No, not Yahoo's archive; this is a local archive that keeps track of which messages were downloaded already with fetchyahoo. With 2.13.6 all I had to do was mark it as unread on Yahoo and it came over. So I guess it was a 2.13.4 glitch? jon |
