Hi, I think deleting the lock file is OK if there are no other cpan perl processes open (ps aux|grep perl) . You might need to contact CPAN devs / mailing list / support if you are having trouble with CPAN. Thanks, Ravi. Hi all, If you are having any problems with this or prior versions, please switch to the all-new Yahoo interface, log out and back in to your mail and then try fetchyahoo again. You can find out how to switch to the all-new Yahoo here http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/settings/mltagswitch.html This version should fix deleting of messages and downloading from the Sent folder. Get it at http://fetchyahoo.sf.net Let me know if there are any issues (apart from the bug if you use the Classic interface) or any patches . Thanks, Ravi. |

Hi all, I do know that deleting messages still doesn't work, Jeffrey has sent me some info which I am going to look into to try to fix this. If you are getting a complete "parsing summary page" failure, you can try switching between the classic and new yahoo mail web style as your default and trying fetchyahoo with each one. There is also a thunderbird plugin which may work to download messages from Yahoo webmail. Thanks, Ravi. Ravi Ramkissoon wrote: > Hi all, > > Sorry for the long wait for these fixes. It seems to be a new redirection Yahoo puts people through because of its choice of the classic or new interface. Unfortunately, logging in manually or changing to the classic interface doesn't fix it. Chris |

Dear Jon, I thought I might have escaped further problems, but yesterday I found that my messages had ceased downloading, with the notorious "Error 3, retrying" problem. I don't know which version of fetchyahoo you're using, because the code you posted differs from what I have in the current (2.13.3) version of fetchyahoo. I applied your first correction (Adding "Transitional") by replacing line 1023: $mainPage =~ /^<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"/ || with $mainPage =~ /^<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"/ || and made the equivalent change to line 1041. It took me a while to find where to apply the second correction. The relevant line had moved from 1149 (your version) to 1140 (v. 2.13.3): $tmpPage =~ s/<tr class="(msgnew|msgold)".*?name="mid".*?value="([^"]+)".*?href="(.*?mid=)([^&]*).*?td title="([^"]*)".*?"title="([^"]*)".*?<td.*?>(.*?)

(.*?)

//ms) Putting the class in quotes has already been done in the latest version, but removing the second title hadn't been done: $tmpPage =~ s/<tr class="(msgnew|msgold)".*?name="mid".*?value="([^"]+)".*?href="(.*?mid=)([^&]*).*?td title="([^"]*)".*?<td.*?>(.*?)

(.*?)

//ms) After these fixes fetchyahoo was able to download again. I added a bunch of debug info, so line numbers are probably not exact. First, I noticed that the doc type was transitional, so I changed line 1025 from $mainPage =~ /^<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"/ || to $mainPage =~ /^<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"/ || I did that at line 1043, as well. This worked, in that it gave me a message count, but then it went into an infinite loop. It appears to be choking on one of the regex's: In line 1149, I changed this: $tmpPage =~ s/<tr class=(msgnew|msgold).*?name="mid".*?value="([^"]+)".*?href="(.*?mid=)([^&]*).*?td title="([^"]*)".*?"title="([^"]*)".*?<td.*?>(.*?)

(.*?)

//ms) to this: $tmpPage =~ s/<tr class="(msgnew|msgold)".*?name="mid".*?value="([^"]+)".*?href="(.*?mid=)([^&]*).*?td title="([^"]*)".*?<td.*?>(.*?)

(.*?)

//ms) I enclosed the class in double quotes, and removed the second title match. That seems to have done the trick for me, although it does throw some warnings: Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at ./fetchyahoo line 1226. Line 1226 is if ($msgcount > $maxMessages) { Hope this helps. jon |

My accounts have been working now for a few weeks, except for message deletion, using the new interface, but I had to mess around with them so much I don't know how I got them to work. Some combination of switching between interfaces, deleting mail.yahoo.com cookies from a browser before logging in, making sure to log out from the browser before letting fetchyahoo log in. Good luck, and please let us know if you are able to learn the trick. Chris |

I was having a problem fetching mail with version 2.13.3 but upgraded my yahoo account to the new interface and things work again. This may also resolve your problem. Give it a shot. Thanks, Josh. |

Dear John, Thanks for the suggestion. I have three accounts, and could download from only one. The other two kept giving the error: Logging in securely via SSL as cwjenks on Wed Apr 29 09:51:14 2009 Country code : us FetchYahoo! Version: 2.13.3 Successfully logged in as cwjenks. Leaving messages unread on the server Fetching mail from folder: todownload Retry #1 (error 3). and would then retry three times before giving up and printing out the page it was unable to parse. Loading the HTML in a browser shows a Yahoo page asking for "password prompting" - apparently after a period of activity, set to two weeks for my account, the password must be reentered despite being already logged in. Strangely, I don't get this page even using lynx from the same host. I tried deleting all Yahoo cookies in my browser and logging into the account but it didn't make any difference. Finally I tried switching back to the new interface from the classic one, which I have done a few times, but then FetchYahoo was able to log in and download messages. I really appreciate the suggestion about downloading only new messages - that will make my system usable again.
