Ravi seems to no longer be developing fetchyahoo. It's been broken for a few months with no word from him. I've switched to fetching Yahoo! mail using their IMAP server. Unlike the POP server, the IMAP server is free. Dan Jones On Fri, Dec 14, 2012 at 8:54 PM, Chris <cpo...@em...> wrote: > Seem to have run across a problem with the new version. Seem to have run across a problem with the new version. When running the new version in debug mode I see: [chris@localhost fetchyahoo-2.14.8]$ ./fetchyahoo --debug Logging in securely via SSL as chris_pollock on Fri Dec 14 19:45:00 2012 Using already hashed password. Tried URL https://us-mg6.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch?.rand=3ueomjet45812 Got redirect to classic page : http://us-mg6.mail.yahoo.com/neo/optOut?rs=1&ncrumb=et8i8hOZby4&once=true Tried URL https://us-mg6.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch Got redirect to classic page : http://us-mg6.mail.yahoo.com/neo/optOut?rs=1&ncrumb=et8i8hOZby4&once=true And of course there is no longer a classic page for mail. Can I switch to the previous design of Yahoo! Mail? ID: SLN8822 Refers to: Yahoo! Account , Mail , Homepage Resolution Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch to the previous design of Yahoo! Mail. We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our products, and the design you see today is our cleanest, most intuitive version to date. Any suggestions? Hi All, 2.14.8 contains a fix for the problem that has prevent many people from downloading mail for the past 2 months. I apologize for taking so long with this fix. I haven't been able to find a chunk of time for figuring out this issue until today. I also fixed a problem moving downloaded messages to an archive folder and I recommend everyone use that option since Yahoo no longer has mail storage quotas. Get the new version at http://fetchyahoo.sf.net Let me know if there are any issues or any other ideas/patches . Thanks, Ravi. |

Be sure to use Yahoo's imap server imap.mail.yahoo.com, not their pop server which Dan used initially. On 11/20/2012 03:13 PM, Chris Jenks wrote: > > Drat, I was just learning about mpop too. poll imap.mail.yahoo.com with proto IMAP port 993 user '<username>' there with password '<password>' is <localuser> here ssl mda procmail That's my full entry (I like to be verbose). Of course, remove "mda procmail" if you won't be passing it to procmail. You can use Yahoo's POP server for free? Because when I go to the "POP & Forwarding" settings in Yahoo, it says I need to upgrade my account to Yahoo! Mail Plus for $20/year. I just noticed that it had stopped working last night myself, but didn't get to reporting it because I wanted to check if there was a new version yet - but there hasn't been one since April. I hope Ravi comes back. On Tue, 20 Nov 2012, Dan Jones wrote: > Is this project still active? The program hasn't worked for several weeks for me. Is this project still active? The program hasn't worked for several weeks for me. I sent the error message to the developer, but no response. I'm just wondering if this project is now dead, and should I move on to find another program? |

Howdy, The issue I've been experiencing lately is that Yahoo keeps sending me to the wrong server. So long as Yahoo keeps changing things, not much can be done. I installed 2.14.4, but got the "server not found". For now I added the following line just before line 860: $baseurl =~ s/\.mg1/\.mc2/; Temporarily yours, - Jim |

Hi All, 2.14.4 contains a fix for the blank e-mails being downloaded and a fix for IMAPS issues. 2.14.3 contained a potential fix for the multi-hop errors but some people have reported a "server not found" error instead. That is still an open issue. Get it at http://fetchyahoo.sf.net Let me know if there are any issues (apart from the "server not found" error) or any other ideas/patches . Thanks, Ravi. |
