Hello, I am very new to equalizer APO and recently downloaded it along with peace to make my hyper x microphone sound louder in discord. It worked great, I was honestly amazed with the feedback I received. However, when I loaded into a dota 2 match (steam game) my game freezes for 10s whenever I use my voice chat. Im not sure if my voice gets transmitted either. Does anybody know whats going on, help would be greatly apprecoated, I like what the program does for me in discord, but if I cant communicate in dota I cant use it sadly

I've seen this before on this forum but I don't know if it was resolved. Perhaps you can play around with the troubleshooting options for the Hyper X mic (in the Configurator). Are you familiar with these options? And perhaps Dota has some audio technique options you could try.

And as it's a mic perhaps you could take a look at the unchecking of the exclusive modes. Perhaps Dota wants exclusive access to the mic which gets Equalizer APO into trouble.

If the Hyper X needed software to be installed, uninstalling this software may work (after a standard Windows audio driver has been installed).

Sadly im not familiar with the program, is there a turorial or anything, I will try looking more into it. Dota doesnt seem to have much for audio technique options other than in steam, which didnt have anything that seemed to help. When you say uncheck exclusive modes do you mean in sound/recording devices. Wont the program stop working in discord if I do that? Hyper x did not need software to be installed either

Yes, that could be the case. Unfortunately, I don't know a solution for this 10s freeze issue so it's a matter trying stuff.

If the Hyper X doesn't need software to install means that the audio device driver is a Windows one. So that's okay.

The troubleshooting options in the Configurator are accessed by:
      1. Clicking mic name in the left Connector column on the Capture tab.
      2. Checking the Troubleshooting options checkbox
Although I don't think it helps still try SFX/EFX (if available in the Install as dropdown box at the right). If after a restart it didn't work, try SFX/MFX.
