Hello, I have used EAPO for quite some time until today, it mysteriously wojld not launch. I have tried to ran the program in compatibility mode and ran it as admin to no avail. When I attempt to launch the program, the analysis bar pops up and it closes itself which makes the equalizer itself inaccessible.
Are you talking about the Configuration Editor not starting (crashing at startup)? If so, you have stumbled upon a known bug which is caused by detaching the Analysis panel (lower graph window). This can be corrected by deleting the "windowState" value from the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\EqualizerAPO\Configuration Editor" registry key. Are you familiar how to access the Windows registry to perform this action?
Unfortunately, the developer still hasn't corrected this bug.
The fix will be available in the next release.
im having the same problem rn in the version 1.3.2
You mean that the Configuration Editor doesn't start up? If so, probably the Configurator doesn't start either.
I don't know, for some reason nothing starts and I don't get any errors either.
I have reinstalled the application many times, I have used the troubleshooter, I have tried compatibility in other modes but nothing runs, it does not give me an error or show any message, it simply does not start
You have to be a bit more specific. What exactly doesn't start? The Configuration Editor?
I explain, I installed the application, I started the executor, everything was fine, I restarted as indicated, after that I followed the steps of going to the C: drive, searching for the folder and starting the program, when I started the program directly it did not open That is to say, I right click to run as administrator but the option to accept does not open nor does the program open, I don't know if I can explain myself, basically it is as if it did nothing, that is to say it does not work, neither the configurator nor the editor , absolutely nothing is executed
Okay, now I have a good picture of what you're experiencing. Unfortunately the developer of Equalizer APO hasn't really come up with a good reason and solution of this issue. Sometimes a popup message is shown, sometimes nothing happens as you have experienced.
My guesses of this problem is either caused by some overactive antimalware or firewall app preventing the access to the Windows registry by the Configurator or Configuration Editor. Or it's about an audio device which can't be read from the Windows registry because it isn't according to the Windows standard of registration an audio device. I think this is almost always a USB or Bluetooth device. The latter can be checked by switching the Bluetooth device on. Or when it's on, switching it off or better just remove the connection in Windows.
Anyway, did you install Equalizer APO on a USB or Bluetooth audio device in the Configurator when it presented itself during the installation process? Btw. The Configurator is what you called the "executor".
I haven't been able to install it on any device yet because the application doesn't open for me.
Well, that's awkward. So the Configurator showed itself at the installation process (if I understand you post correctly). Then after a restart it just doesn't.
If you haven't checked any checkbox in the Configurator at installation then the default 2 audio devices (mic and speakers/headphone output) are probably the issue. Usually it's the output. What output audio device does you PC/laptop have? For instance, on my laptop it's Nahimic by SteelSeries. It causes a few problems on its own (so before installing Equalizer APO). I had to uncheck the "Enable sound enhancements" checkbox on the "Advanced" tab of the audio device sound panel. This unchecking isn't recommended according the troubleshooting wiki but it did work for me. I guess you can try this unchecking and apply just to see if both apps do start up.
I've already tried unchecking those boxes, I've also disabled the firewall and antivirus, updated drivers, and reinstalled the initial process many times, which is the only one that works for me as I mentioned. The others don't allow me to process them. My audio output device only shows Realtek(R) Audio. Thx for help
Realtek is pretty standard. Usually no problem there. So it probably isn't an audio device. But if it isn't the firewall/antivirus app either then it might be Windows itself. Are you using the early updates by switching on the "Get the latest update as soon ..." on the Windows update screen? If not and therefore using updates which are a bit more stable, I don't know what else to try.
Im using a stable update the 2024/01 update i have
I'm on 23H2 build 22631.3880 installed 2023/05.
I guess you don't mean 24H2 as this update has only be rolled out on Copilot+ PC's. If you have it on your "normal" PC then it's a release preview. Usually that isn't a problem but maybe running Equalizer APO is a problem.
