And have you tried some troubleshooting option for the audio device you want Equalizer APO to work on? Especially, "SFX/EFX" of the "Install as" dropdown box is the one to try first. Are you familiar how to access these troubleshooting options?

Some have reported the former 1.1.2 version of Equalizer APO works. I don't know why, though. To be thorough, are you able to influence the audio by using the Configuration Editor of Equalizer APO?

I tried it, but it did not work.

It might be easier for us to understand the issue if you do the following:

    1. Open the Equalizer APO Configurator
    2. Select the offending device and click "Copy Device command to clipboard"
    3. Paste the clipboard somewhere (e.g. notepad), note the device GUID ({xxx})
    4. Hit Windows+R, run regedit
    5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio
    6. Go to the Render key if you're dealing with a playback device, or Capture if you're dealing with a recording device
    7. Right-click on the key that matches the device GUID and click Export
    8. Reply here with the exported file as attachment for us to take a look at

If we get enough people doing this, we might be able to figure out the commonalities and root cause the problem with Equalizer APO setup.

for some reason I don't have boost option on windows 11, I use mod mic 5, connected to the back of my pc, directly to the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO.
So I looked into a different solution and found Equalizer APO, and installed EqualizerAPO64-1.2.1, but it did not work.
Equalizer APOEqualizer APOEqualizer APOI had the option in windows 8.1. I don't know if this is the fault of the hardware in my new pc or driver issue. I use the same mic as on my previous pc. windows 11 has so low mic volume I would have to scream so loud people would think I am being murdered.I tried Equalizer APO, but to does not recognize the mic.
I can only record in Firefox if I have it connected directly to ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO , not the front panel.

Does Equalizer APO work on your default output? If not and the "Install as" settings like SFX/EFX don't work then it might be that you have to wait until Microsoft is done tinkering on Windows 11. Any Windows update might get Equalizer APO going but the next one could make it stop again. This happened a few times with Windows 10 until it was (finally) stablilized.

I've updated the Realtek sound driver, and it solved all of my issues, but not tried Equalizer APO again. but now I have the mic boost, and I can record in all web browsers via front panel and volume is the same. I might test Equalizer APO again latter, butt for now this works.

Great to hear that a driver update has fixed your issue.
