Hello.

I've had PC Equalizer installed on my PC for a while now, but out of stupidity I uninstalled it because it didn't have echo/reverb effects. I tried to update to a new version but it wouldn't work.

Anyways, when I installed it back and set it to SFX/MFX (because it doesn't work on my PC if I set it to GFX), my PC would have no sound whatsoever until I uninstalled the APO and restarted windows.

I've been trying to fix this issue for a while now, and I've come to the conclusion that it's time to ask for some help.

PS: I'm pretty sure that when I first installed the equalizer I didn't have to make two installations (APO and GUI).. it was all in one and it started working right away when I set it to SFX/MFX.

There's a reason to have 2 installations. It can be quite difficult to understand what's going on when having one installation for both. As developer of the Peace equalizer I recommend installing Equalizer APO first before installing any GUI. Btw. which Equalizer APO version is installed when installing PC Equalizer? Sometimes Equalizer APO 1.2.1 isn't working and 1.1.2 is. Also Equalizer APO might stop working due to a Windows update.

    And have you tried SFX/EFX?

Also some questions are better asked on the PC Equalizer forum but I'm guessing this is an Equalizer APO/Windows 10/audio driver issue so this forum will do.

To fix things you might uninstall the GUI first then Equalizer APO. If the sound isn't coming back the specific audio drivers needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled again. As a last resort all entries of Equalizer APO could be removed from the Windows registry then the audio drivers need to be installed again.

I have tried all versions. Right now I have 1.1.2 APO installed with the 1.1.7 Equalizer GUI, just like I believe I had before. Installing it as LFX/GFX still doesn't work - at least for me it never did. I had it installed as SFX/MFX and it worked properly, but now everytime I try to install it as such, my PC mutes itself after rebooting until I switch it back to the previous setting or uninstall the APO and reboot again.

At least I can say that using LFX/GFX on Windows 10 or 11 is usually not a good option. LFX/GFX is Windows 7, SFX/EFX and SFX/MFX is Windows 10 and 11. Anyway, have your tried SFX/EFX?

I am experiencing the same issue.
I have tried doing an inplace upgrade on windows 10, using different audio devices and ports, reinstalling as LFX/GFX or SFX/EFX, using different versions of apo, removing and reinstalling drivers or fixing registry permissions. The issue persists. When I enable eq apo on any audio device or output. It enables sound enhancements which then mutes everything on the system except for system sounds. When I disable sound enhancements, I can hear everything again but eqapo does not work. If sound enhancements are on, eq apo does not affect system sounds in any way.

Try the unchecking of the "Use original APO" checkboxes. This disables the sound enhancements and Equalizer APO isn't enabling it any longer.
