Hey,
so I have a wired headset and equalizer apo works just fine, I am looking to get a new wireless headset tho, specifically HyperX CLOUD FLIGHT but before that I was wondering if equalizer does support the wireless headset versions specifically the hyperx cloud flight my use of equalizer apo is to swap right channel with left channel.
Thanks for help
If I'm not mistaken Equalizer APO supports any device driver that conforms to the Windows standard of APO (audio processing object). Unfortunately some users do have problems to get Equalizer APO going on a HyperX headset, probably because the manufacturer isn't exactly complying to this Window standard. I suggest you read some of these HyperX problems on this forum to get well informed before buying the HyperX Cloud Flight.
I am using hyperx setup right now and it works just great with Equalizer APO, right now I'm using wired hyperx cloud alpha headset, but I want to get wireless cloud flight of hyperx I would like to know if Equalizer APO just treats wireless headsets different than wired ones, like does it usually support wireless? or its good only for wired ones.
I have HyperX Cloud Flight and it works with Equalizer APO. It only has one problem, this headset uses USB dongle and if you put it in different USB port then Windows will install it as a new device (it's like this with every USB device) and you need to enable APO on that "new device" again. Not a problem if you will use it only with PC, just stick it to one port and be done with it. I also use it with PS4 so I plug & unplug it often
Yep, that's right. Good advise.
Unfortunately Equalizer APO can't bypass this Windows behaviour, I think. It's all about GUID's and rerouting the audio stream by using them.
There isn't any difference between wired and wireless. Windows APO structure is the same for any device, input or output. So if the HyperX Cloud Flight supports APO, Equalizer APO does his thing on it as any other device (Rerouting the audio stream through its audio processing software so you can equalize it or in your case swap the channels).
HyperX Cloud Alpha are standard wired headphones with 3.5mm minijack. HyperX Cloud Flight are wireless headphones that use USB dongle and probably use standard USB Audio Device Class (no drivers needed). You can also connect them using 3.5mm minijack cable but you will loose microphone functionality this way
