#10 Windows 10 support

So, I upgraded my windows 7 64 bit machine to windows 10 64 bit, and Equalizer APO 0.98 didn't work.

I use it to decrease my headset volume so I can have finer control, by using the Preamp.

Does 1.0 have windows 10 support? Is there a certain way you need to install it to make it work on there?

I found that win 10 had to include the full device id for the config file to have effect. But I also find my usb headset gets a different device id on a regular basis with win10. a) disconnecting and reconnecting/sleep b) changing surround sound to stereo/5.1/7.1 (restarting however keeps the original device id)

Changing the device id then disables equalizer apo for the device which fixed the volume. To fix it i have to uninstall the device from the device manager which then means i have to install equalizer apo on the device again.. which then requires a restart so its easier to restart but its very frustrating for right now...

Hopefully there will again be a way to write a config file using the device name in win10 rather than including the full {device id} but for now go into the configurator and select your headset and choose copy device command to clipboard and update your config file (c:\program files\equalizer apo\config\config.txt)

The Device command does not need the GUID of the device. You can just remove that part and it will match any Device with the name you specify, regardless of its GUID.

The reason that the GUID is included when the Configurator generates the Device command is that sometimes there can be multiple devices with exactly the same name, so they can only be distinguished by their GUID.

Unfortunately, I still have no clue what the problem is that many users switching to Windows 10 seem to encounter. I installed it in a VM and also on a real PC and, at least after reinstalling E-APO, it worked correctly.

Hrm. I've been trying to use it threough the virtual Razer driver
