Essentially nothing happens. I had everything set up and I upgraded with keeping all apps and data, but Equalizer apo doesn't work.
Even tried reanstalling, thinking maybe something is set at that time, but still nothing.
I have an Asus PRIME B350-PLUS mobo and I've been using EQ-APO for years on 8.1.

Perhaps you need to use the "Install as SFX/EFX" trouble shooting option for the target audio device. To select it go to the Configurator -> Click on device (connector column) -> check the troubleshooting checkbox -> select "Install as SFX/EFX" in the right dropdown box.

Microsoft explains this on this webpage:
The audio stream goes "through" SFX (stream effects) to MFX (mode effects) to EFX (endpoint effects) to the output connector. For Windows Vista and 7 it was GFX and LFX. Don't know what those mean.

I think you're right. For Windows 10 the setting should be SFX/EFX as audio manufacturers or Windows 10 itself may not supported the GFX/LFX of former Windows versions.

It seems so. Thanks. I found other suggestions for this.
But what do these acronyms even mean? SFX, LFX, MFX, GFX...

Thanks.
So I guess the default options were removed for W10, but still present in
8.1. That would explain the symptoms.
