i just wanna ask the first thing, if i got a laptop with a headset that has a mic included, will equalizer apo work using the aux port? or do i need to use the usb c? i tried everything to make it work, using older or newer version, reinstalling over and over again, using voicemeeter, not using voicemeeter, different settings but never worked, i cant see any difference on it, on my microphone on device selector using troubleshooting option, i only have the pre mix checked, the rest of the button from post mix and the other 2 ones are greyed out and i cant select it. would it fix if i use an usb c?

Since you're talking a mic it could be that the app you're using is using the mic in exclusive mode, causing any Audio Processing Object like Equalizer APO to be bypassed. So you might try to uncheck the checkboxes as shown in the screenshot.
If things are greyed out then those things aren't available/installed so that's no problem.
Before having a good mic I've used a bad mic for recording audio for YouTube tutorials. Equalizer APO was something I used to clean up this mic.
So can you fix it with an USB C mic. This could be but it isn't guaranteed.

That's unfortunate but it was worth to try. I don't know why Equalizer APO isn't always working on a mic and I doubt if developer holds the answer to this. So it's a matter of trying. However, what is concerning that Voicemeeter isn't working. Note that Equalizer APO can only work with its virtual A1 to A5 devices. It isn't guaranteed that Equalizer APO can be installed on the other Voicemeeter devices.
Another thing you could try is to go through all APO techniques the Device Selector offers. So instead of letting this app do it automatically (after testing) select one at the time from the Install as dropdown box and hit the OK button to try it.

I don't know how it's done with a mic when using A1 to A5 in Voicemeeter (I'm not an expert in using Voicemeeter) but after installing Equalizer APO on one of these A# devices you can insert a device selectio command in the Configuration Editor before any other other command like pre amp or EQ-ing:
Click the green plus button -> Control -> Device selection. At this inserted command select the target Voicemeeter A# device.

thats fair, i knew it would work on A1 to A5 but it only works b2 on mine and i have no idea how to change the device from B2 to any A1-5
