I stumbled upon Equalizer APO in Microsoft Store, and it's not even free in there. Is this a really legit release of the software? It's published by "Niente."

I guess the open source license allows for commercializing Equalizer APO. But two things are bad. First, I don't think that the developer has been notified. Second, it isn't supported by the developer or any of this forum contributors, mostly me, Juha and Etienne. So in that respect one could say "no".
But there's a third issue which concerns me more. Typically the download size of Equalizer APO doesn't exceed 9 Mb. The app in the Microsoft Store is 224.5 Mb. What is that about?

It could be safe but the size says something different. I wouldn't install it. Indeed, it does raise the question what certified and safe means.
There's no good explanation for the size. My Peace equalizer app (interface for Equalizer APO) contains quite a lot of files, almost 250 packed in the install app and the actual executable. It has a download size of only 12.5 Mb. On the other hand, the store app could contain a video tutorial? Then again, the description in the store is very poor which is another sign. I hope it doesn't rub off on the legit Equalizer APO.

That's disheartening, considering someone else is practically making money off the real developer's work :(
No idea how the publisher bloated it to that size. Worse part is, that app being in the MS store means MS has 'certified' the software to be 'safe.'

Btw. Thanks for mentioning this.
