    Hey there

I installed the program to enhance my microphone. And because I had no idea what I’m doing I had the instant mode enabled (check on the top) and srewed around with the Audio.
I accidentally made the Output Sound really distorted (Voices are very quiet and Music robotic), so I decided to stop all that and uninstall the program.
But even after uninstalling the effects were still there and installing it again didn‘t fix it.

Now I reinstalled the whole Win 10 system but the Audio is still messed up. Can please anyone help me ☹

    Thanks in advance

If I recall you can reset the EAPO in the settings.
Also if you done a reinstalled Win 10 then ther eshould be no residuel drivers left to hang. All drivers should install fresh if you done a wipe.
If you kept you previous files then their may be settings that stayed and was not purged..

EAPO has a slide bar on top that controls the Pre amplifying, if this is to high then the lower Peak Value Meter will hit into red thus distorting or clipping happens.
Some times using these seperate interfaces can be difficult to manipulate. Do not that Win10 you have the Volume in the lower task bar, be sure to set that to the appropriate setting to allow adjustments as well.

I have a Yeti Mic and if I play my HiFi through my SPDIF and have the window volume on the Speaker Yeti Mic then my EAPO shows no peak value meter until I change that Window Volume setting over to the correct mode.
In short there is two ways that can control seperate.

Be sure to go into yoru Win 10 sound settings and check that all those are in a normal range and not to loud. From there you should be stable. After yo get this stable again, then install the Equalizer APO the the PeaceSetup.

Then you will get the option to setup what devices you want to add from there. DO read all the boxes as you can change this anytime if yo uneed to.

Last off if you remove the Peace and EAPO be sure you remove any backup of the program from the system to insure a proper freash start.

    Keep us posted.

Thanks for the quick response Slim
I've done a complete wipe so that all my data and users got deleted. I also did the reset from the EAPO settings. My full setup is in the first attached picture and mz windows settings.

and I put in an audio file so zou can see what I mean with distorted audio its a 26 sec clip from eminems rap god video and I recorded the audio out with my phone. The beat is noticable but the voice is nearly non nonexistant.

But what do you exactly mean by PeaceSetup and removing "the Peace" ?

When there's red areas showing up on analysis panel display you probably get audio distorted (depends on situation of course).
Debugging: If you start by turn off the demo.txt line showing up above the GraphicEQ and turn off the pre-amplification as well. Is there still distorton?

When you equalize you should keep the output gain below 0dB. You can't see amount of output gain through Configurator Editor but there are free software which might help in monitoring the output levels (Orban's LoudnessMeter is one I could suggest).

I turned off the preamp and the demo.txt seperately and together and it didnt really improve. Turning off all three also didnt change it. And as said before even after clearing the PC and not having installed EAPO the sound was still broken.

Turning the preamp down so that the red areas diappear made the loud distortions disappear but still the voice is not recognizable

I installed Orbans LoudnessMeter but I'm not sure how to read the total gain, so I made you a small recording of the same video :/
The PC records the audio perfectly (I sent the recording to a different device to check) but on the audio out on the headset its still messed up and voices are nonexistant

I also tested a different working headset and its the same problem

I guess you connect your headset through (PC) front panel connectors ... if possoble, can you plug the headset into speaker connectors found from motherboard (back of the case (if you set the system for 5.1 or 7.1 you'll get rear channels available to test)).

Yeah I had tested only the front and the monitor (through HDMI) 3.5 mm audio connection but not the PC back connection.

Basically I have three 3.5mm audio out jacks
            1- Monitor (through hdmi)
            2- PC front
3- PC back on the motherboard

But before I read your response I tried a bit around with the configurator and removed the APO from all playback devices and then tried the troubleshooting with all four checks unchecked (see image). You can only troubleshoot one device at a time.
I first troubleshooted the PC front "Headphones" device which then surprizingly worked. But when I then troubleshooted the monitor audio jack (P24h-10), it broke the PC front jack and did not fix the monitor jack.
So I repeated installing, removing and troubleshooting the monitor audio jack (in the configurator from EAPO see same image) until now the front jack is at least working. the monitor one is still distorted.

Only after that I read your comment and tested the PC back audio jack and it is also working, but I have no idea if it was broken at any time before that to begin with.

And I noticed I reinstalled windows on the wrong harddrive, so now that at least the front and back are working I will reinstall windows on the correct drive (I'll test it without installing EAPO first) and hope nothing breaks..

Okay reinstalling windows gladly didnt break anything. So the front jack is now mostly working but I'm going to use the backside jack for the headset without installing EAPO just to not mess it up again. And I boosted the mic in the windows settings a bit though instead of using EAPO. I only needed it for games and discord, nothing professional

And thank you very much Juha! ^^"
Without you I wouldnt even have thought about trying the PC back audio jack

Okay I see Peace is an extension https://sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension/ but I had not installed it before so should I install it now or just let it be?

As Peace is only an interface for Equalizer APO it doesn't matter if you install it or not. It doesn't alter your audio, Equalizer APO, Windows and the audio driver does. So first you have to get Equalizer APO going before you can use any interface like the Configuration Editor or Peace.

I would start with just your Windows settings first. See if it sounds correct. Once that is right then install the EAPO and PeaceSetup.

I would not install the Orban at all. Isolate your first problem then move on.

Above I was refering to and directories that may be left over or settings when you uninstall the program/s.

I would check your speaker and Mic settings in windows sound panels and make sure those are set in a OK range.
Windows settings and Volume where you select what speakers or mic on the taskbar (lower Right) act independently) Meaning sometimes if your in EAPO and the lower Peak VAlue Meter isn't lit then use your Windows Volume on task bar to get it in the right mode.
    Understanding the basics to start.
edit my vidoe won't post... Do I understand the (P24h-10) is this a Video monitor?

Yeah I also agree with isolating the problem before adding more programs.
And the P24h-10 is the Lenovo ThinkVision P24h-10 Monitor. it has a 3.5mm audio out built in.

I tried doing this in a previous comment and although it didn't completely fix the issue at least I can now use the backside audio jack (which maybe had no problem to begin with).
Currently thats all I need so I wont install EAPO just so I dont mess up the backside jack while trying to fix the others. I dont necessarily need all of them to work.
So my setup is now working through a workaround (using a different audio out).

But nonetheless thank you (and the others) very very much for your help! :)

One last thing if y ou have a seperate soundcard on your system other then built in be sure you disable the one in the Bios.

Give yourself some time and come back to this and I am sure you will get it figured out.

    Cheers!
