Im trying to use this RNNoise plugin (v.1.03) for my microphone on Equalizer APO, but it doesn't work . However, it does work when I allow it to affect my speakers when I disable the device filter, but I only want it to affect my microphone. Is it possibly just a driver issue or something? I don't know much about audio stuff. I use a steelseries arctis 1 headset (3.5mm jack) that is directly connected to the front jack of my computer.
(Im using the preamp for testing)

Looking at your setup as shown in your image I can say it's done properly. Did you install Equalizer APO on the microphone in the Configurator (capture tab)? Also there can be some problems in getting Equalizer APO going on a SteelSeries headset. Sometimes some troubleshooting option is needed although for the headphones part you have been able to get it to work.

I'm not sure if each VST plugin can work on an input like a mic. But in theory they should as the audio engine of Equalizer APO is just starting a (second) instance of the plugin and just routes the mic audio through it. But there's always the rights issue to think about. Some solutions for these issues are provided in the discussion of this ticket. In short: RNNoise plugin needs to have access to its license. Be aware that the plugin you use and see in the Configuration Editor isn't the one that's doing the actual audio work. The audio engine starts a second instance/proces of the plugin to do that. The one you see just creates commands to send to the audio engine.

I tried the solution from that ticket, but I don't have any AppData folder in my C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService folder where theres supposed to be license files. Maybe I just need the license files? (not sure how to get them)

Most likely is that these kind of folders are hidden by default. Also the license could be placed in c:\users\

I have the plugin placed in the VSTPlugins folder, although do you possibly know where this license is and the file name of it? Theres also no Equalizer APO folder in my user AppData folder, or does it just have a different filename?

There isn't an Equalizer APO folder in AppData. It's all in c:\program files\equalizerapo. Other apps may have files in AppData as apps could be per user.
Sorry, but I don't know where license files are. If the license is in an AppData folder then it could be in a subfolder which name relates to the plugin and/or maker. You could do a general search for a part of the name string on the AppData folders.

I already installed Equalizer APO on the microphone, and to be honest I think its just some low level software problem thats causing this.

Alright, thanks for the help! I'll leave myself to this for now.
Good luck!
