I'm not sure when this started so I included the windows version I'm currently on but as of now I can't use spotify at all with EAPO active on the pc it just skips through songs playing less than 1 second and locks on one song once it reaches a threshold where the app says, "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it". It's probably due to too many song play requests at once. I've reinstalled spotify both the MS store version and the regular desktop version with no difference. I tried it without EAPO installed and it works fine. It's probably worth noting that my EAPO is installed via the sfx/efx setting due it being the only one that works with my windows install.
Sorry if this has been brought up before, I just don't know a solution where I can keep my equalizer and use spotify so I thought I'd see if anyone knew one. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I believe I've seen this issue on this forum. I can't remember how it was resolved. Is it possible to use Spotify in a browser? That might work. Anyway, I guess Spotify uses a different way of playing audio so perhaps it can be resolved by a setting a different audio setting. On the other hand, it could be a DRM issue. For instance, Equalizer APO disables the audio protection of Windows (else it wouldn't work) and Spotify detects this as DRM is applied, hence it stops playing.

I have it disable atm, but if my other browser experiences are anything go by It'd likely work since I have no issues with any other app and the apo. I can test it a bit later and post back since I'm gonna be busy for a bit. I'll also look around and see if I can find another thread, I looked before posting but I'll admit there's a lot to parse through so I went with recent pages. Appreciate the fast reply!

It's seems fine after i used the configurator to reinstall it still weird that doing that just fixes the issue, haven't had it for day and half now with restarts so I don't really get this interaction. Either way thanks for attempting to help!

I hope the issue won't show its ugly head again :)
Anyway, it does happen that some issue resolves itself. Of course any new Windows update might but sometimes it happens after a few computer restarts (or Configurator starts). I don't understand this, except if some app is monitoring the Windows registry too rigorously as things get resolved after these restarts.

It seems like you're encountering a compatibility issue between Spotify and EAPO on your Windows 10 version 21H1 build 19043.1466. When EAPO is active, Spotify starts skipping songs and eventually displays an error message about not being able to play the track. This issue might be related to excessive song play requests with EAPO enabled. You've already tried reinstalling Spotify from both the Microsoft Store and the desktop version, but the problem persists. Interestingly, when EAPO is not installed, Spotify works fine. You've noted that EAPO is installed via the sfx/efx setting as it's the only one compatible with your Windows installation. You're seeking a solution that allows you to retain your equalizer settings while using Spotify without these playback issues. Any insights or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Had the same issue, and couldn't figure out the problem.
In my case, the problem was that the soundcard with apo installed wasn't the only "default" soundcard. So spotify prevented me from playing anything.
So make sure in your sound config that the sound card you use is the default and the only one that is defaulted.
Hope it helps others, took me few days using the webplayer, getting frustrated and even considering third party client to finally find that solution.
Happy listening !

Hi,
I have the same problem and can't figure out the cause. I am using spotify premium gratis mod apk version. Is there any way to solve the problem?

So Equalizer APO isn't working the Spotify app but it does work elsewhere?
