Hi.
I got new headphones and i managed to tune EQ a bit in basic Realtek Audio Console to sound better for me but i would like to try EQ preset from oratory1990 but im scared that Equalizer APO overwrites my realtek settings or something and i would not be able to get it back
i found this but if i understand it correctly, i can choose only jack 3.5mm in EQ APO and it change only that right? i have speakers too connected with SPDIF and i dont want to change EQ there
so in case i would not like it, is there uninstall process that will remove everything EQ APO related and Realtek took over control of everything again? i have MSI B550 Tomahawk so ALC1200

In the Configurator (which also appears at installation) you choose on which audio devices you want Equalizer APO. But by default it gets installed on the main 3.5 inch outputs (usually named speakers on the Playback tab) and the main 3.5 inch input (microphone on the Capture tab). And when using Equalizer APO you need to add a device selection command to specifically target a device as by default Equalizer APO targets all devices (on which Equalizer APO is installed on).
Equalizer APO doesn't overwrite the settings in the Realtek console, rather it reroutes the audio stream of a device. It tries to leave the Audio Processing Object (APO) of the device intact. The EQ on Realtek console is such an APO.
By uninstalling Equalizer APO reroutings gets undone thus restoring the devices to the former state. In some rare ocassions this fails and an audio driver needs to be reinstalled again (by uninstalling then installing).

i try it later because i use headphones only at night so i play with it later

Equalizer APO isn't my project. The Peace equalizer interface is. For this you'll find my tutorials on YouTube. In that case selecting the target device, it just selecting it in the list.
When Equalizer APO isn't working on the target device, the Configurator has some troubleshooting options to get it going. Have you seen/tried them already? For instance, SFX/EFX of the "Install as" dropdown box. This settings is needed for Windows 10 devices.

i was trying that but i had to click on name of output not just check that box, because when i checked that box only i had no troubleshooting options, and i found this out by little rage clicking on everything in Configurator so "russian" style fixing i guess :D ... its working now and realtek is working too so i dissabled my EQ in realtek and i guess less problems for me if i want to stick with my EQ in realtek ... if i run into some problems i let you know but so far thanks especially for fast response
so i tried that EQ for DT 880 Black Edition (and i have Topping A50 headphone amp) and i miss a bit detail somewhere, maybe at 5750hz, i play with it a bit but its good, first impression was meh but i changed preamp to -1db and i can hear the difference and it is better... btw why there is that pre amp -4.9db? just to eliminate potential clipping?
and i hope last question, do i have to run Peace program every time i turn on PC?

Yeah, that's my problem with the Configurator to. It isn't obvious how to get to the troubleshooting options. I would have implemented it much more user friendly. That's simple, preselect the first device by showing it as an entire blue row. Then it's obvious what is selected. The troubleshooting checkbox can be removed by showing the options for the select device all the time. Besides, splitting the Configurator into 2 tabs, playback and capture isn't convenient too.
After you have done with Peace or any interface, you can exit it. Equalizer APO's audio engine is processing the config.txt file which in case of Peace points to peace.txt. These files will stay after exiting an interface. But for convenience you could add Peace to the startup of your PC. And by hiding the interface it is only visible in the Windows system tray. The Peace menu there is for popping up the interface or switching configs or whatever you need to do.
why there is that pre amp -4.9db?
I'm sure where you have seen this. Have you enabled the "Prevent clipping" feature? If so, Peace is dailing the pre amp back as soon as the peak value meter is at its maximum. This may cause the -4.9 dB when playing some highly compressed and limited song.

i have not enabled "prevent clipping" ... that pre amp -4.9db is from your EQ preset (screenshot
attached)
i manually set that pre amp to -1.0db so i dont have to add more volume on amp
so should i leave it at 0 and just enable "prevent clipping"?
i just want to know the reason behind that pre amp setting, i add another screenshot so you can see how i set that up... output is called "speakers" because i had speakers connected there before i switched to SPDIF for speakers, i changed that output in realtek audio console that its headphones but its named "speakers" anyway but that is not a problem and that EQ is not affecting my speakers connected with optical cable SPDIF
Sorry, I don't understand why you're saying: "your EQ preset". Where did you find this preset?
It could be that -4.9 dB pre amp is a bit too much.
In general the "Prevent clipping" feature isn't needed. Manually dialing the pre amp up or down is okay. When the sound is clipping just dail the pre amp down. And when the peak value meter maxes out to, say, 70% there's room left to dail up the pre amp.
Looking at your EQ it seems fine. It's built around the 0 dB line and that's good practice.
Yes, there isn't a "headphones audio device". The speakers signal is just rerouted to a 3.5 inch jack.
