I've been using Equalizer APO on Windows for months now, and it's truly an amazing program. The low latency and performance usage, coupled with the amazing flexibility, truly makes this the ultimate program of its kind.
Unfortunately, I've found myself faces with one major issue; I can't find a way to apply different effects to different devices. More specifically, I have APO installed on both my audio output (headphones) and my USB microphone. The program works great, but I want to be able to have different effects applied to both these audio devices; I want to keep my general EQ on my headphones, and use some VSTs and other effects on my microphone (to apply live effects to my voice while in different voice chat configurations). But as it is right now, any effect I add (in the config.txt file) are applied to both devices, which is pointless to me.
Not finding any answer online, nor any similar program that I could run alongside Equalizer APO to apply effects only to my microphone (or at least not even close to the flexibility that EqAPO offers), I turn myself to the online community, with the hopes that someone here would have a solution.
Does Equalizer APO have a feature to apply different effects to different devices, that I have missed? Is there a way to have multiple Equalizer APO run with different settings and on different devices (as flimsy as that sounds)? or simply another program or workaround I could use to make this work?
Thank you very much for reading, I appreciate any feedback on the topic!

And you haven't found the Peace equalizer, the most popular interface for Equalizer APO?
Independent which interface you choose/use I'll guide you through the process but be aware that the Configuration Editor of Equalizer APO has its limits as it's a very basic app. Peace has multiple way of switching configurations (eq and effects presets) for instance hotkeys, automation, etc. and a simple way to select the target device as you have asked.

hmm. I gotta admit, I'm having a big of a hard time trying to figure out how to import my existing filters/EQs into Peace, and then selecting which device these are applied to. I found some clues in the "Commands" window, but I'm not sure yet.
Basically, I have a TXT file to flatten my headphones, and a TXT file with some basic EQ that I sometimes toggle on for music listening. With that, I want to be able to apply some filters and VSTs to my microphone, without applying those to my headphones, and without applying the headphone's effects to my microphone
Edit: I figured how to add my headphone's EQ by finding the same file from the AutoEQ button, so there's that!

To import use the Import button (at the bottom right of the eq sliders). Perhaps you have to divide your txt files into separate eq txt files. To select a target device just select the device from the Peace devices list at the right and save your eq config so it's automatically reselected when activating a saved eq config.
To flatten either choose a default eq config like "Equalizer Default" or flip the top right switch to disable the entire equalization.
Unfortunately, there isn't an option to have VST plugins in Peace (yet) so those remain in the Configuration Editor or rather above or beneath the "include: peace.txt" line in config.txt.

ooh, that's neat! VST plugins are mostly to play around with mic stuff, but Peace looks nice so far. It's not very intuitive, but feels like it makes it easier to switch between presets and devices once set up

You're getting the hang of it. Peace has so many features that it can be a bit of challenge to understand them all. But you could always start with the simple mode although in your case you want to import your eq's. That needs to expert mode. At least you've found the easier switching and devices features.
