Alternative to rebooting when installing on a new device?

I love this app more than words can describe. I just have one question: I routinely use a bluetooth speaker, and PC bluetooth isn't the most stable thing generally. I occasionally have to reconnect or re-pair, and every time I do, Equalizer APO says it needs to re-install on the device, requiring a reboot.

I work in IT and know that rebooting is usually just a way of getting a service or driver to reset, or to kill a process while an installation script runs.

Would it be possible to know exactly why the reboot is requested when installing Equalizer APO on a "new" device, and whether it's something I could do manually instead of actually rebooting each time? This would really make my life easier.

Thanks for any info! And thanks for the app, and especially for providing it for free!

Your guess is very close. It is the Windows Audio service (AudioSrv) that needs to be restarted. As there are sometimes dependencies from other services to the audio service, the most reliable solution is to just restart the PC, but a more convenient solution might come with one of the next versions of Equalizer APO.

So, you can normally just click "No" when the Configurator asks for reboot and restart the audio service manually.

Thank you! I just tried this out -- restarted the Windows Audio service, and Equalizer APO is working on the device, without rebooting.

This is going to make things much easier for me. Thanks so much for the perfect and prompt answer! And thank you again for the absolutely awesome app!
