Disclaimer: I have little to no knowledge of how to particularly use EAPO.
Now, my issue. I'm simply trying to make the volume through my headphones louder! I'm using SoundCore Space Ones running an aux into my Crua monitor. I installed EAPO properly and it is linked with the correct sound output. I opened the application, turned the preamp all the way up, and the first 20 seconds of my song is loud but once the artist starts rapping it gets quieter. I just want it to keep the volume through the song.

And like certain parts of songs are louder than others.

Using the pre amp to make the sound louder is okay only in moderation as it will introduce high 'clipping' at higher values. To prevent this, as it may cause audible distortions, Windows intervenes by reducing the overall sound, in principle by applying a dynamic negative pre amp. So the higher the pre amp you set the more fluctuations you get. But this is better than high distortions through clipping. Generally speaking it's about using the pre amp carefully so the fluctuations aren't audible whilst making the gain higher. Btw. It isn't the volume what's getting increased by a pre amp. The gain is a value of the individual digital samples of a sound which will by multiplied by the pre amp you set. This makes the sound louder without increasing the volume like the one set in Windows for an audio device.

The anti-clipping by Windows is quite effective but rudimentary. You could try to find a VST plugin which is more 'intelligent' but basically the issue will remain when using a high pre amp setting although perhaps less with a proper VST. Unfortunately finding a good free VST plugin which works with Equalizer APO is a rabbit hole on its own.
