Hi, I have read this article : https://github.com/TheFireKahuna/equalizerAPO64/releases/, in which the author states that in order to avoid distortion for Windows 10, you need to use SFX/EFX. That's fine, but then which of the Pre-Mix/Post-Mix options should I use? Should "use original APO" always be checked for pre-mix in W10, as in the picture? Or is it better if neither is checked pre-mix?

I have done some experimenting and found that sound quality differs between the different modes, which is why I am confused as to what the correct one is for Windows 10. Thanks, much.

It isn't about distortion. SFX/EFX and SFX/MFX are just Windows 10 and 11 ways to do the Audio Processing Objects (APO's). Of course, LFX/GFX of Windows 7 might be supported but general speaking this support isn't there or gets removed causing Equalizer APO not to work.

The "Use original APO" checkboxes have nothing to do with SFX/EFX, etc. settings. At installation of Equalizer APO on a device the Configurator tries to leave the sound enhancements (APO's) of the audio driver of the manufacturer active. But sometimes the APO of the device driver and Equalizer APO can't work together hence these checkboxes to deactivate the APO's of the device driver.
