Does Equalizer APO work with a Scarlett 2i4 interface?

In Sounds on Windows 7 Home Premium, the Scarlett 2i4 Advanced tab does not contain any checkboxes relating to Enhancements. Does this mean it will never work with Equalizer APO? I don't want to waste time my installing E-APO to 'try it and find out:' I'd rather know one way or the other beforehand!

So, does anyone here own a (1st gen) Scarlett 2i4 and if so, does E-APO work with that interface?

Thanks in advance; and apologies if this has been asked here before, but I couldn't find anything.

Having no Enhancements tab makes it probably more likely that it will work. But generally it doesn't matter if there is one or not. Just try it, testing would have been quicker for you than writing that question.

Matt, thanks for that reply. E-APO instructions (that I have read, anyway!) don't say what to do if there are NO Enhamcements showing on the Advanced tab. So I didn't know whether or not a visible Enhancements on the Advanced tab was a requirement for E-APO to work, since nothing was said about that; there seemed to be an implict assumption that an Enhancements section WOULD exist.

It would be great if something were added to the instructions to say whether or not the lack of visible Enhancements is either a showstopper; or nothing to worry about and carry on: don't you think?

That said, I'm presuming/guessing that you don't own a 2i4 yourself? Ideally I was hoping a fellow owner would pop by and let me know for sure. Anent that, I guess I'll have to try it myself after all. And thanks for the thought, Matt, but 'trying it' will take me MUCH more time than typing my question did: I'm a very fast typist! :)

Once I've got E-APO installed and configured (and rebooted ;) ), I'll post my experience here for the benefit of any other confused Scarlett owners out there.

OK folks: I now have E-APO installed and the mystery is solved.

YES E-APO works great with a Scarlett 2i4. I am a happy bunny!

After install of E-APO (and a reboot), the Advanced tab in the Scarlett 2i4's Scarlett Line Out Properties dialog does display a Signal Enhancements section, containing an Enable audio enhancements checkbox which works as expected to enable/disable E-APO.

So it turns out that the presence of the Signal Enhancements section on the tab indicates a successfull install of E-APO. Before the E-APO install (i.e. in its default installed state), the Scarlett doesn't have any enhancements installed in its driver, so it's logical that no Signal Enhancements section would be displayed on the tab. Simples!

I hope that helps any other Scarlett owners who may have been puzzling over this and who, like me initially, hadn't tried installing E-APO. It will all work perfectly. :)

It would be great if something were added to the instructions to say whether or not the lack of visible Enhancements is either a showstopper; or nothing to worry about and carry on: don't you think?

The section you are refering to is labeld "Troubleshooting", so it means you are only supposed to read it if you run into any problems during / after installation. But you shouldn't trouble yourself before!

And yes, I don't have a Scarlett thing. But EqAPO works for me despite neither having a Enhancements tab nor the Signal Enhancements section.

Still, glad it worked for you – but I didn't expected it to not run in the first place.
