I updated Equalizer APO and Peace, after that every time I restart my computer I get a "error while checkin for update" "permission denied" banner, after logging in to Windows.
I have unchecked "Check for a newer Peace version" but it doesn't help.
I do have a third party firewall, TinyWall, where I've set C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\Peace.exe to have unrestricted access to internet.
Any tips what to do next? Is there some other component that needs an internet access?

This message isn't from Peace so unchecking "Check for a newer Peace version" doesn't do anything. It's a message by Equalizer APO or to be more specific, by an executable file called "UpdateChecker.exe" which is located in your Windows startup menu folder:
c:\Users\pever\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Unfortunately, Microsoft hides this folder from us by default so you need to make it appear by changing the "show hidden and system files" setting which should be available somewhere in File explorer or Windows.
In the past I always got the same error. I think it has to do with the fact that it's called too soon after a user has logged on. But in your case it could be TinyWall. Anyway, the developer of Equalizer APO hasn't provided us with a way disable this update checking so I just removed the "UpdateChecker.exe" file from my startup folder. And I advise anyone to just disable the update checking at installation of Equalizer APO. There's a checkbox over there.

Just found out that the Equalizer APO Update Checker is in the Windows Task Scheduler. You might delete this task as it's activated at user logon:
- Start the Task Scheduler.
- Scroll down in the Active Tasks list to "EqualizerAPOUpdateChecker" task.
- Double click on it.
- Either remove the task by clicking on the delete icon in the right pane
- or disable it by the disable icon.

I disabled the task from Task Scheduler and I'll see if that helps in the next startup & logon.
Strangely, there's no shortcut to UpdateChecker.exe in my startup folder but I found the file in C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO. I'll create an exception in TinyWall for that.

That's right. There's only a task in the Scheduler. When TinyWall isn't preventing internet access for UpdateChecker.exe then that's okay. However, I still got this error popup. This got annoying. Besides, as developer of Peace I don't need a message when Equalizer APO is updated.
