When jm watching watching stuff in 5.1 audio like something on Netflix, if im using a Compressor(i use Reacomp) the audio doesnt match up and the center channel gets washed. im using Dolby Atmos in Windows 11 to watch streaming in 5.1. what settings do i need to change for Equalizer APO to work right with it?

Unfortunately Equalizer APO can't work with Dolby Atmos which is an decoded and licensed audio stream. Only a PCM stream can be processed. I don't know how to get it working with Dolby Atmos or if this is possible in the first place. There aren't any "settings" in Equalizer APO. An Audio Processing Object like Equalizer APO just receives the stream as it is. If PCM then process, if not then leave it untouched. But it could be that Equalizer APO is placed after decoding Dolby Atmos to PCM. Unfortunately I don't know if this is the case or if there's any Windows setting which is able to influence this behavior.

It sounds like you're running into issues with channel routing and dynamics when using Equalizer APO and ReaComp with 5.1 Dolby Atmos on Windows 11—especially with center channel clarity getting lost. To fix this, make sure you're using the proper channel configuration in Equalizer APO's Configurator (set it to 5.1) and apply the compressor only to the channels you need (e.g., avoid compressing the center channel too much). Also, check the Windows spatial sound settings and ensure Dolby Atmos is correctly configured for your setup. If you're still struggling with syncing audio while streaming, consider trying a free streaming app like MovieBox iOS, which supports a range of formats and may give you more control over playback without the added compression problems.
