    Hy there,

so I have 3 different vcables. First Mic, then Discord and third Soundboard. Now I have enabled EAPO for A1 output in Voicemeeter Banana. Thats an issue since everything I route to A1 automatically gets compressed too like the Discord line and Soundboard.

Is it somehow possible to apply EAPO to Voicemeeter Input and not the A1 Output so it gets globally applied. I only have system and gamesound routed to the VMInput. Everything else I Directly route to A1 because I need control of everything seperately since I'm streaming so I have seperate tracks for everything.

Like have it installed for Voicemeeter VAIO Input and A1 and then use the configuration editor to apply HeSuVi only to A1 and the compressor only to the VAIO Input.

If anyone has any idea that works without having to use 2 soundcards or something the like I would love to hear them!!!

I'm not sure I fully understand your question but you can:

    1. Use the configurator to select output and input devices (change the tab).
    2. Use the Device command to only apply some effects to some connections.

YeahI should explain it better but it's really non usual issue I have :D.

In a Nutshell: I need EAPO applied on the Voicemeeter Input directly not only on the A1,2,3 outputs in Voicemeeter but it does not show up. How do I make?

Maybe you shoud show your config.txt file and capture from Voicemeeter screen.

I want to install EAPO directly to Voicemeeter Input. This one:

It does not show up in the config screen to install EAPO. Maybe some limitations I don't know but thats essentially my question.

Showing what you want will not help me answer my question.

will not help me answer my question.

Hmm... so, you don't need help.
IMO, in Equalizer APO Configurator, you should be able to see two Voicemeeter (Banana) outputs to map as input devices and you should be able to pick those in Configuration Editor. You should learn the Voicemeeter functionality a bit as well.

My suggestion is; start from a simple configuration and when you get it working as you wish then add more features by your final goal.

My question if I can force EAPO on VAIO Inputs from Banana ( stuff where the sound goes) and not A1,2,3 (where I can route sounds to on the fly as i wish from my 3 virtual cables). Please don't assume I don't know what I do.

By screenshots you have enabled APO for one output cable ... and this is listed correctly by Editor. If you use that device command then all effects set below it are for Output A1.

If you want to add effects for VAIO Input device(s) then you need to enable one through the Configurator to get it listed in Editor selection (the other tab there what Matt Gore already pointed out).

I might not set the system input to use Voicemeeter device but normal soundcard input where you have your mic connected.

If you have some other VAC device running there (Virtual Cable 1-3 in yor screenshot) you want to add effects through EqualizerAPO then you need to 1st enable those I/O's you need and install APO for them (if APO gets properly installed then you should see those listed in Editors device selection).

When you route signals 'on-the-fly' it's quite common to end up to sync problems and distortioned audio.

Sorry, but I'm with Ubuntu so I can't check what all can be done or works with those cables/devices.

I can not select the inputs, they are just not there. I don't know why. I should have made it clearer that I can't select those audio devices but thats excactly my issue here. Is this some kind of limitation??

I don't have sync and distortion problems. Thats not my issue at all.

Hmn... Was macht denn Line 1,2,3?

This thread starts to be confusing because of
    not exact target told

    * what are you trying to achieve, what effects and where (in which software) are you trying to apply them) and

    mixed language

I want to apply EAPO to VOICEMEETER INPUT and not the A1,2,3 Outputs in Voicemeeter Banana. Voicemeeter Output IS NOT THE ONE WHERE SYSTEM SOUND GOES only for outputting stuff to apps. You can't select Voicemeeter Output as a playback device too, it's not for that purpose, Voicemeeter Input is for that. You get it?

Voicemeeter Input does not show up as a Output device in the configurator, that is my issue. A1,2,3 can be selected but then all the effects get applied to all the stuff if send to A1 so mi discord output would be compressed to.

AFAIK, VAIO and VAIO Aux (named as "Voicemeeter Aux Output") can be selected in "Capture Device" (Aufnahmegeräte) tab on Equalizer APO Configurator.

What do you mean by "compressed" ... is it compressor -effect or is it because of that HeSuVi or something else?

What are your connections now? By earlier screenshots you linked everything looks like a mess without some clarifications. Are you using those HW Inputs 1-3 for something? If so then what are those? Why are yo sending VAC 1 in HW Input 1 to some software (B1)?

Also, attach your config.txt file so one can see what are you doing there so far.

I think the confusion is that VoiceMeeter Input is an output device and VoiceMeeter Output is an input device and he wants to select VoiceMeeter Input as output device in the configurator but not VoiceMeeter Output as input device, however, only VoiceMeeter Output shows up as input device in the list whereas VoiceMeeter Input isn't available in the output list at all. Hope this clears that up ;)

Still, HeSuVi doesn't compress the sound, so it would be crucial to know what compresses the Discord line and the Soundboard, and why it will affect A1 as well.

            :)

Yeah, maybe he uses compressor for the mic?

            If OP wants to have

            • HeSuVi to work globally for all software playback + mic and
            • compression just for the mic
then, IMO, this can be done without Voicemeeter as well by using

            Device: <mic device="" name="">
            compressor VST plug-in
            Device: <current playback="" device(s)="">
            HeSuVi stuff
            ...</current></mic>

Yeah, maybe he uses compressor for the mic?

I don't want to use HeSuVi. I don't need compression for the mic.

Still, HeSuVi doesn't compress the sound, so it would be crucial to know what compresses the Discord line and the Soundboard, and why it will affect A1 as well.

As I can only select A1,2,3 in EAPO everything that i route to A1,2,3 (in my case Virtual Cable 2+3) is affected by everything I add in the config editor. There is NO way around that, only if I could select Voicemeeter Input so every effect that I add gets applied to the playback device and NOT to the A1,2,3 output in Voicemeeter Banana.

I don't route Discord and Soundboards sounds at all to the playback device. It all goes straight into A1, so if I could choose Voicemeete Input only game and system sounds would be affected by effects. I want to have a compressor on the playback device so I don't have to worry at all about too loud sounds, but still have everything else loud.

Regarding compression and HeSuVi, what did you write in subject of this discussion and in your opening post? If those are not parts of your goal then why bring them within.

I'm still unsure what are you trying to do there. Have you tried using VAIO and VAIO Aux instead of Hardware Inputs (these two should be listed under Capture Devices (Configurator)?

                  TheRealDadBeard - 2018-06-26

Well then thats on my I'm sorry.

Already did in OP but here detailed:

                  Virtual Cable 1 = Mic
Virtual Cable 2 = Discord Audio (to me like voice etc)
                  Virtual Cable 3 = Soundboard

                  A1 = My Headphones

VC1 gets routed to B1. This is the Voicemeeter Output aka Mic.
VC2 gets routed only to A1. This is so I can have a seperate Line in OBS to mute it like i want but still hear people talking but not my viewers.
VC3 gets routet to A1 and B1. This is so I can hear the Soundboard sounds and people on the stream AND the people I talk to since B1 is the big output for eveything I put into it.

Voicemeeter VAIO gets routed to A1. There goes everything that gets routed to the in windows selected audio device like Gamesounds and Spotify etc.

I have complete control over every single sound. I can mute stuff only for me and/or for my viewers like I want. But since I can only apply EAPO to the A1-3 hardware outputs Discord and Soundboard will be Compressed too (I'm using a VST compressor plugin).

Could I select the playback device Voicemeeter Input all my problems would be gone.

Right now EAPO is only installed on VC2 with a compressor plugin.

I can't do anything if I can't apply it to Voicemeeter Input. Seems to be a limitation by the dev and one can only hope for an explanation why that is.

                    Juha - 2018-06-26

                    Try this:

                    • enable APO for Virtual Cable 2
                    • use Virtual Cable 2 as system preferred playback device
                    • use VAIO or VAIO Aux for Discort
                    • in config.txt add a Device: Virtual Cable 2
                    • add the Compressor VST for it
                    • if you add more functions after above in config.txt remember use Device: command to target the effects for the device(s) you want them

Above method should allow you to play clean audio coming through VC1, VC3 and VAIO you use and compress the VC2 stream.
Global EqualizerAPO effects can be added for devices A1-A3 if APO enabled for them. (remember use Device: command before effects)
