Yes. Portslave doesn't like the new pppd we included. That's the reason why I posted the question if anybody uses it. Right now it looks like we're going to de-select it from the default config. -- Regards Heiko Zuerker http://www.devil-linux.org |

Hello Heiko, A couple of weeks ago i asked for bluetooth support, i hacked it together in the meanwhile, here are the results. I hope it's allright like this, if you would like more info, please let me know. It all works fine with my sitecom USB bluetooth dongle. It is possible to make a bluetooth network accesspoint this way. At my home i even have a good signal upstairs. The patching is done to the latest 1.2 release (final). You will need the following source packages in the src directory: All from http://www.bluez.org Bluez-libs : http://www.bluez.org/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbluez.sf.net%2Fdownload%2Fbluez-libs-2.10.tar.gz Bluez-utils: http://www.bluez.org/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbluez.sf.net%2Fdownload%2Fbluez-utils-2.10.tar.gz Bluez-firmware: http://www.bluez.org/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbluez.sf.net%2Fdownload%2Fbluez-firmware-1.0.tar.gz Bluez-hcidump: http://www.bluez.org/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbluez.sf.net%2Fdownload%2Fbluez-hcidump-1.12.tar.gz The following files are added to the tree (all added to the included tgz file): ./scripts/scripts/bluetooth ./scripts/bluez-hcidump ./scripts/bluez-utils ./scripts/configuration/bluez-stack.config ./scripts/bluez-libs ./scripts/bluez-firmware The diff changes that are made to the kernel are included in the mydiff file in the tgz file. Greetings, Peter de Zoeten |

> Thanks Bruce but now I have other question: > How can I compile a new DL CD without grsecurity? > Where can I select if grsec must be installed or not? grsec is a kernel patch, among other things, so DL must be completely recompiled from scratch to remove it. You'll need to follow the developer documentation and recompile everything. There is an option in menuconfig to deselect grsec. - BS |

Bugs item #1050986, was opened at 2004-10-20 14:42 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=410643&aid=1050986&group_id=34096 Category: Base System Group: v1.2 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Heiko Zuerker (smiley73) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: mismatch between pppd and pptp's log module Initial Comment: EMAIL: Hi Heiko, This is actually an excerpt from Michiel Peene's similarly titled message: Oct 17 21:08:44 src@DevilFW pppd[14320]: Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so is for pppd version 2.4.3, this is 2.4.2b3 (I have only just joined the list so was unable to reply to Michiel's message) The log message would suggest a version mismatch between pppd and pptp's logging module for pppd. I just want to ask if you've already got Asterisk running on DL? I want to try that too but I do not want to reinvent the wheel ;-) Would be nice if you did already have some stuff to share, so we could start incorporating it into DL. -- MfG / Regards Friedrich Lobenstock |

Hi Heiko!
While setting up a self hosted compile environment for 1.3 I have done the
following:
* downloaded lfssystem-svn-20040906d-i486-stripped.tar.bz2
* tar -xvjf lfssystem-svn-20040906d-i486-stripped.tar.bz2
* cd lfssystem/data
* cvs_sf checkout build
* wanted to run "./update_src" but no lftp installed
* downloaded lftp-3.0.7.tar.bz2 from the 1.3 sources
* uncompressed the lftp sources at /usr/src in the chrooted
lfssystem
* ran "./configure" and got this error
root:/usr/src/lftp-3.0.7# ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... yes
checking whether we are cross compiling... no
checking for suffix of executables...
checking for suffix of object files... o
checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking for gcc option to accept ANSI C... none needed
checking for style of include used by make... GNU
checking dependency style of gcc... gcc3
checking for g++... g++
checking whether we are using the GNU C++ compiler... yes
checking whether g++ accepts -g... yes
checking dependency style of g++... gcc3
checking for special C compiler options needed for large files... no
checking for _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value needed for large files... 64
checking for _LARGE_FILES value needed for large files... no
checking how to link simple c++ programs... using gcc
checking if gcc supports -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti... yes
checking if -fno-implement-inlines implements virtual functions... yes
checking if c++ compiler works... yes
checking if c++ compiler can handle dynamic initializers... yes
checking whether gcc supports bool type... yes
checking whether gcc understands ANSI scoping rules... yes
checking for library containing strerror... none required
checking how to run the C preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details.
So this probably means I would need to install gcc first. But maybe you could
add lftp to the lfssystem so we can get a really self hosted environment.
