The "mail()" function appears to be broken in PHP DL 1.2.1. I get: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mail() Which is odd since the documentation says: There is no installation needed to use these functions; they are part of the PHP core. My only guess is postfix needs to be installed on the LFS so PHP can find it. Any other ideas? If not, I'll try installing Postfix. Also, some of the case insensitive string functions are broken. i.e. stripos() is undefined, but strpos() works. Same for a couple other str[i]... string functions I tried, except strtolower() works. The string functions are also part of the PHP core, so I have no clue how to solve this one. Any ideas? - BS |

Heiko, great... thanks for adding it to DL 1.3 Peter On Fri, 2004-12-31 at 04:10, Heiko Zuerker wrote: > Peter, > > I added the bluetooth support to DL 1.3 > Thanks for the patches ! > > Heiko |

Hey, I added a new (experimental) make command to the DL 1.3 sources: make makefile You first have to run "make prepare" and then "make makefile". 'Makefile' will take care of 'build install iso', but executes X jobs in parallel. You can configure this via 'menuconfig'. The command creates makefiles in the build/tmp/ folder and uses the 'make' command to take care of the parallel execution of build jobs. This change has quite a performance impact on SMP machines, but of course now the bottleneck is the harddisk. I'm currently thinking a little about making more use of Makefiles and probably getting rid of the usage of 'insserv', since it's very slow. -- Regards Heiko Zuerker http://www.devil-linux.org |

It would make it possible to make a bluetooth accesspoint with the firewall. The new 100m bluetooth USB dongles cover a few rooms with bluetooth, handy with some PDA's. What I forgott to mention: DL 1.3 requires a new lfssystem, you'll find it on the FTP server or any of its mirrors. The new lfssystem is only for i686 and up, I very much doubt that anybody would try to compile DL on a 486. ;-) -- Regards Heiko Zuerker http://www.devil-linux.org |

Subject: [Devil-linux-develop] [PATCH] patch : php / network / nss_ldap
X-Spam-Level:
Hello,
First, congratulation for the works :-)
I try it few weeks ago, and now I replace all of my red^H^H big historical
linux by some small Devil ;-))
Anyway, I had some little problems when I tried to start a ldap/samba server
:
- there is no libnss_ldap
- php wasn' t compiled with --with-gettext, so lam doen't work...
- only one network module can be specified, so in
heterogen environment, we have to change the
MODULE in /etc/sysconfig/nic/ifcfg-ethx
So, I propose the following little modifications, in the archive file :
In the tar file :
network.diff
nss_ldap
nss_ldap.config
php.diff
profiles-default.diff
With :
1/ patches-1.2.1-pjluc/network.diff
With this small patch, we can specify more than one
module in the MODULE directive :
MODULE="8139too pcnet32"
We will test them at start :
(...)
Shutting Down WLAN Devices: Shutting Down WLAN
Devices: [ OK ]
try module: 8139too (unsupported)
try module: pcnet32 (ok)
Starting DHCP client daemon on interface eth0
(...)
2/ patches-1.2.1-pjluc/nss_ldap
patches-1.2.1-pjluc/nss_ldap.config
patches-1.2.1-pjluc/profiles-default.diff
I add the nss_ldap module, with option in the menuconfig
engine... (set to "yes" by default)
3/ patches-1.2.1-pjluc/php.diff
Just the addition of the --with-gettext options for php...
I hope this small contribution could be usefull ;-)
Sorry if I'm wrong : I'm not very familiar with cvs & patches protocoles... !
Best regards,
- pjluc
