This email is to inform you of release '1.5.20' of 'syslog-ng' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/syslog-ng/ The changes in this release are as follows: Minor bugfixes were implemented. Project description: syslog-ng, as the name shows, is a syslogd replacement, but with new functionality for the new generation. The original syslogd allows messages only to be sorted based on priority/facility pairs; syslog-ng adds the possibility to filter based on message contents using regular expressions. The new configuration scheme is intuitive and powerful. Forwarding logs over TCP and remembering all forwarding hops makes it ideal for firewalled environments. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button. Sincerely, freshmeat.net |

This email is to inform you of release '1.76' of 'Syslinux' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/syslinux/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release is a workaround for certain broken Toshiba BIOSes. Project description: SYSLINUX is a boot loader for the Linux operating system which operates off of MS-DOS floppies. It is intended to simplify first-time installation of Linux, rescue disks, and other uses for boot floppies. A SYSLINUX floppy can be manipulated using standard MS-DOS (or any other OS that can access an MS-DOS filesystem) tools once it has been created, and requires only a ~ 8K DOS program or ~ 16K Linux program to create it in the first place. It also includes PXELINUX, a program to boot off a network server using a boot PROM compatible with the Intel PXE (Pre-Execution Environment) specification, ISOLINUX, a program to boot off ISO 9660 CD-ROMs in native mode, and MEMDISK, a tool to boot legacy operating systems (e.g. DOS) using a Linux boot loader regardless of medium.

This email is to inform you of release '2.1.8' of 'Cyrus IMAP Server' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cyrusimapserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release fixes a locking problem during CREATE operations that was introduced in 2.1.7. It also includes a performance improvement for RENAME operations and a small fix to the rehash script. Project description: The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in. The mailbox database is stored in parts of the filesystem that are private to Cyrus. All user access to mail is through the IMAP, POP3, or KPOP protocols. The private mailbox database design gives the server large advantages in efficiency, scalability, and administratability. Multiple concurrent read/write connections to the same mailbox are permitted. The server supports access control lists on mailboxes and storage quotas on mailbox hierarchies, multiple SASL mechanisms, and the Sieve mail filtering language. Hey, sorry for the late answer, but I had no chance to read my private emails. Diego Torres wrote: >i've been working on how to include the vtun and the openvpn packages to devil-linux, but i need help on one point. > >Both of them need liblzo (a compression library) to compress encripted data over the tunnel. How i'm supposed to include this library and the headers? over the lfssystem system? as an independent package, and hope the user would select this when selecting vtund? Are there any kind of dependencies? > > Take a look at the scripts libmcrypt or zlib. Libraries are always following this procedure: They're only referenced in the scripts/build directory with a number under 100, e.g. 030zlib . In the build script you compile the library and install it into the LFS system. Make sure you don't use the path /usr/local ! When there are any shared libraries needed by a program, the build system will copy them from the LFS System when you create the ISO. Installing the libraries in the LFS System has the advantage, that other scripts don't need to take care about that library when they need it, too. Hope this helps. -- cu Heiko We are Penguin, Resistance is futile! http://www.devil-linux.org |

This email is to inform you of release '1.1.11-20020822' of 'Postfix' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/postfix/ The changes in this release are as follows: This snapshot fixes a few loose ends from 20020819. The LDAP client has been updated, the HOLD action (freeze mail in the hold queue) now works in both header/body_checks and in SMTPD access tables, and a new DISCARD action in header/body_checks and in SMTPD access tables has been added. Project description: Postfix is an attempt to provide an alternative to the widely-used Sendmail program. Postfix attempts to be fast, easy to administer, and hopefully secure, while at the same time being sendmail compatible enough to not upset your users. OK, the patches for 2.4.19 are on the homepage (not sourceforge).
The ebtables patch doesn't cleanly apply against 2.4.20-pre3, that'll b=
e
for
some other time.
The kernel 2.5.31 with patch is building right now (slow comp), we'll s=

This email is to inform you of release '1.11a30' of 'cdrecord' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cdrecord/ The changes in this release are as follows: Support for Yamaha AudioMaster was added. Spaces are now allowed as a separator for tags in /etc/default/cdrecord. Support for RAW data sectors has been included in the Open Source variant of cdrecord. Project description: Cdrecord creates home-burned CDs with a CD-R/CD-RW recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. Cdrecord supports CD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc and ATAPI/mmc compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel-port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CD-RWs (rewritable), TAO, DAO and human-readable error messages. Cdrecord includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD-writers. This email is to inform you of release '1.1.11-20020819' of 'Postfix' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/postfix/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release features "mail loop" notification for moderators when broken mail pickup software feeds postings back to a list. The queue manager will now log "helpful" suggestions when the active queue becomes congested with too much mail going to only a few destinations. There is also a new "hold" queue for mail that must not be delivered until it has been approved, with a HOLD action in the header/body_check files, and postsuper commands to manipulate mail that is "on hold". Project description: Postfix is an attempt to provide an alternative to the widely-used Sendmail program. Postfix attempts to be fast, easy to administer, and hopefully secure, while at the same time being sendmail compatible enough to not upset your users. Hi, this is a forward from the cdrecord mailing list on how to eliminate the annoying count-down when you are burning multiple devil-linux disks. This email is to inform you of release '1.9.7-rc1' of 'grsecurity' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/grsecurity/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release includes process-based resource restrictions, IP ACLs (which support all socket types, protocols, IPs with netmasks, and port ranges), an implementation of nergal's segvguard integrated into the ACL system, and an intelligent learning mode that can create least privilege ACLs with no configuration. Gradm, grsecurity's userland ACL administration tool, has also been updated to 1.5-rc1 for this release. Project description: grsecurity is a complete security system for Linux 2.4 that implements a detection/prevention/containment strategy. It prevents most forms of address space modification, confines programs with least privilege via its process-based ACL system, hardens syscalls, and provides many of the OpenBSD randomness features. It has auditing capabilities and a netfilter module designed to thwart portscans and OS fingerprinting. This email is to inform you of release '1.0.6' of 'Linux Virtual Server' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/linuxvirtualserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: This version updated the connection synchronization code again, rolled back to use sync_id to detect whether the sync_thread is alive or not, and changed code to let the init process be the parent process of sync thread, so that the init process is the only one to reap the sync thread zombie. Project description: The Linux Virtual Server Project is an Open Source project to cluster many real servers together into a highly available, high-performance virtual server. The LVS handles connections from clients and passes them on the the real servers (so-called Layer 4 switching) and can virtualize almost any TCP or UDP service, like HTTP, HTTPS, NNTP, FTP, DNS, ssh, POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, etc. It is fully transparent to the client accessing the virtual service. Hey guys, I just wanna ask if you planned to release a patch for the 2.4.19 Kernel soon. We currently use for Devil-Linux the bridge-nf patch from Lennert, but I want to switch to yours before I finish the next release of the distribution. Please respond directly, I'm not on the mailinglist. -- cu Heiko We are Penguin, Resistance is futile! http://www.devil-linux.org |
