This email is to inform you of release '0.19' of 'VServer' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/vserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: C++ compilation issues were solved. Debian support was added. Multiple IP addresses on several devices are now supported. You can setup up to 16 IPs per vserver. All the scripts have been modified to allow the package to be moved to a different location. The vrpm command now tries to run the rpm command in the proper context (if the vserver is running) so that the post-install script will have proper effect (and won't interfere with the root server). The various pseudo services such as v_httpd and friends have been reworked to support multiple IP addresses. Project description: VServer virtual servers operate like a normal Linux server, but allow many independent servers to be run simultaneously in one box. These can involve normal services such as telnet, mail, Web, and SQL servers - in most cases using a standard configuration. The services are unaware of the virtual server concept. Each virtual server has its own user account database and root password. Each vserver uses standard packages and runs at the same speed as a non-VServer installation. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button. This email is to inform you of release '9.2.2rc1' of 'bind' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/bind/ The changes in this release are as follows: This is a release candidate for BIND 9.2.2, which is a maintenance release of BIND 9.2. It contains no new features. Project description: The Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) implements an Internet name server for Unix operating systems. The BIND consists of a server (or `daemon') called `named' and a resolver library. A name server is a network service that enables clients to name resources or objects and share this information with other objects in the network. This email is to inform you of release '2.3.7' of 'xinetd' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/xinetd/ The changes in this release are as follows: A fix for a file descriptor leak. Project description: xinetd is a replacement for inetd, the internet services daemon. Anybody can use it to start servers that don't require privileged ports because xinetd does not require that the services in its configuration file be listed in /etc/services. It can do access control on all services based on the address of the remote host and time of access. Access control works on all services, whether multi-threaded or single-threaded and for both the TCP and UDP protocols. xinetd supports both internal access control, and the use of the libwrap library. IPv6 with access control is also supported. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cdrecord/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release allows mkisofs to create Joliet names up to 107 characters, and to create UDF names up to 255 characters. It also fixes a byte order bug (Sparc/PPC) in cdda2wav that was present when -paranoia was used. Project description: Cdrecord creates home-burned CDs with a CD-R/CD-RW recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. Cdrecord supports CD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc and ATAPI/mmc compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel-port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CD-RWs (rewritable), TAO, DAO and human-readable error messages. This email is to inform you of release '1.0.5' of 'Linux Virtual Server' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/linuxvirtualserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: This version fixes the bug where the original waitpid(sync_pid, ...) didn't work correctly, fixes the locking bug in the ipvs sync master daemon, and includes ipvsadm updates. Project description: The Linux Virtual Server Project is an Open Source project to cluster many real servers together into a highly available, high-performance virtual server. The LVS handles connections from clients and passes them on the the real servers (so-called Layer 4 switching) and can virtualize almost any TCP or UDP service, like HTTP, HTTPS, NNTP, FTP, DNS, ssh, POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, etc. It is fully transparent to the client accessing the virtual service. Hey, I'm just uploading my changes for the Kernel 2.4.19 and several other program updates. There is a problem with the current bridge-nf patch (bridging firewall), you have to disable this in "make menuconfig" under "Network". I already contacted their mailinglist, hopefully there is soon a new patch out. I'm not sure if I have enough time tonight to make the changes also on the 0.5 branch, so we approach a 0.5 final soon. Don't forgett that you'll have to make a "make mrproper unpack" after you updated your sources. -- cu Heiko We are Penguin, Resistance is futile! http://www.devil-linux.org |
