Hi!
I want to know who's using VLAN with Devil-Linux to share findings
and hints.
Here the current results:
network card driver | switch | result

Hi!
Just reworked the network script a little bit so it
a) conforms to intentation style (tabs not spaces)
b) interface as optional second paramters, eg.
/etc/init.d/network stop eth1
or
/etc/init.d/network start eth1
Already checked it in, so run "cvs update -d -P" to update your
build tree.

This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.01a07' of 'cdrtools' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cdrecord/ The changes in this release are as follows: The program now tries to catch SIGHUP to avoid hung recorders after people close X11 by accident. The program also tries to print hints if the SCSI error looks like a buffer underrun. The first attempt to support QNX SCSI was implemented. A better SCSI adaptation layer was written for SCO Unixware. schckeck now tries to check if multiple scg_open() requests work. An initial (hacky) implementation of a way to meter the read speed for gnuplot was made. A Rock Ridge Bug in mkisofs was fixed. Project description: cdrtools (formerly cdrecord) creates home-burned CDs with a CDR/CDRW recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. It supports CD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc- and ATAPI/mmc-compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CDRWs (rewritable), TAO, DAO, RAW, and human-readable error messages. cdrtools includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD writers. Hi! Just added the support to only apply a selected list of the available netfilter extra patches. The current list of patches that get applied to the kernel when "Netfilter extra patches" was selected via menuconfig can be found at scripts/config/config-netfilter-extra. At the moment the list of patches applies and the "make oldconfig" that follows the patch-o-matic does not choke on the current list of patches. Will try compiling the kernel later. Heiko can you take a look at the list of applied patches. At the moment I just really need the extra/pptp-conntrack-nat.patch. It would be cool if your next testing release has the extra patches enabled as I currently can not run a full compile of devil-linux, just selected portions. -- MfG / Regards Friedrich Lobenstock ____________________________________________________________________ Friedrich Lobenstock FL226-RIPE Internetservices URL: http://www.fl.priv.at/ Email: fl...@fl... ____________________________________________________________________ |

Hi!
As I currently want to test only one of the build scripts at a given
time I did patch the build script a little bit. Let me show you what
you can do now:
* chroot to devil-linux build tree
* cd /data/build (should be automatically there after a chroot anyways)
* run
make mrproper prepare
cd scripts
* now just run the build script(s) you want to test like this
eg:
./build.sh build opt=prepare
./build.sh build opt=linux
./build.sh build opt=patch-o-matic
or the equivalent
./build.sh build opt=prepare build opt=linux build opt=patch-o-matic
NOTE: the "opt=" option will force a build of a special
build script even if it has already been built before
(the tmp/.build_done_xxxSCRIPTNAME file exists)
NOTE: the "opt=" option works for the build options "build", "install"
and "iso"
NOTE: Take a look at the "scripts/build", "scripts/install" or
"scripts/iso" directories to check if some other software
needs to get installed before the one you are trying to
test.
This should speed you up while testing to implement a build script
for any software you want to add to devil-linux.
As a side note, the "DL_DIR" variable had to move from "Makefile"
to "scripts/build.sh" to get this running.

This email is to inform you about the release of version '1.1.3' of 'Linux Virtual Server' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/linuxvirtualserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: This version adds the ip_vs_use_count_inc/ip_vs_use_count_dec, so that it is easy to adapt the code to the module handling change in the Linux kernel 2.5.xx. It updates the module using count handling code to the kernel 2.5.65, updates the IPVS sync daemon code to the kernel 2.5.65, changes the overhead ratio of active/inactive connections from 50 to 256, because too small a ratio number may lead to load imbalance under highly loaded sites. There were also some code cleanups. Project description: The Linux Virtual Server Project is an Open Source project to cluster many real servers together into a highly available, high-performance virtual server. The LVS handles connections from clients and passes them on the the real servers (so-called Layer 4 switching) and can virtualize almost any TCP or UDP service, like HTTP, HTTPS, NNTP, FTP, DNS, ssh, POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, etc. It is fully transparent to the client accessing the virtual service. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button.
