In the past, there has been requests to allow DavMail to not show up in the dock on OSX, which was added in. It would be nice for there to be an option to hide the icon in the system tray in Linux as well. Generally speaking, as much as I love DavMail, I don't need to interact with it, and having the icon flashing in the corner is distracting and I'd like to be able to have it run in the background without taking up that space.

Thanks!

    This doesn't seem to work when initiating from the command line, but adding

    NoDisplay=false

    to ~/.config/autostart/davmail.desktop removes the icon on startup. (Unfortunately, changing /usr/share/applications/davmail.desktop doesn't seem to do anything whether it's started from the command line or not.) So that sort of resolves the issue - but maybe this could be added as an option?

    Much appreciated!

    On linux you can run DavMail in server mode (no gui at all), or without tray icon with -notray option

      Quick comment on how to run DavMail on server mode

      • locate the davmail.properties file in ~/home/user/
      • change to "davmail.server=true"
      • if this doesn't work open hidden file .davmail.properties and change value there
