As far as I can judge works fine.

Committed to cvs:

I'm moving towards a new minor release and most changes are in CVS right
now.

The main changes for this release (0.3.1) are focused in bug fixing and
multiple document's management.

I will not enumerate the bugs fixed but the new features added:

* Mark documents - there's a new entry on the Documents menu called
"Flag" that let's you change the document's tab colors to ease
recognition.=20

* Draggable documents - once opened documents can be reordered dragging
the document's button and dropping it on another document's button. The
dragged document will be moved to the drop position. This closes feature
request ID 1083073.

* Document list - There's a new entry on the Document menu called
"Document list" that shows a dialog will the opened documents in a list.
This list can be saved and loaded to and from a file (in XML format).
You can also drag items from the file browser plugin - if loaded - on a
document list, or from other document lists as well.
You can open as many document lists as you want in a single session.

Those are the main additions, but there is some developer's work to be
done before the release:

- Update to the new libcroco library.
- Commit some fixes to the upstream scintilla.
- Fix a bug in the font dialog repoted by Clansco Falsetti.

On plugins, the file browser have some minimal but interesting changes.

It now remembers the drop down list of directories opened from one
session to other, and there's a new dialog to edit the drop down list.

It can also be edited, by hand as it's plain text will a directory path
per line at $HOME/.cssed/filebrowser.

On the ctags plugin have been no work, but the addition of css support
to ctags, so this modified ctags version can scan also CSS style sheets.

Unfortunately, the ctags project seems to be slowing down and there are
lots of requests for addition of new languages, that are being ignored
by the upstream developer - surely he have low spare time right now - so
I don't expect to see CSS support in the upstream exuberant-ctags.

It's a problem to be solved, and I don't know how. Shipping a self made
version of ctags, or putting the files and compile instructions on the
web site. I don't know yet how to handle this.

There's also some work on plugins to be done before the release as to
change all plugins to the gtk+-2.4 file chooser.

To fix the plugins interface on win32 will wait for the next major
release, as it will involve changes in the plugins' API and the rewrite
of most plugins.

There are some feature requests also pending for the next release:

- Gerard Gualberto http://www.tortus.com asked for gnome-vfs support if
the libraries are present, and it have been accepted.

- izzy  http://sourceforge.net/users/izzy/ asked for CSS preview and it
have been accepted, but it's pending for technical reasons.

The main changes planed for the next major release are:

- CssedFileType manager, is now merely an integer that identify the file
type. I will change to hold an object that will manage syntax
highlighting, auto completion, saving and such.

The idea behind this  is to let users to override parts or the whole
object, to add auto completion functions, styling functions or else, via
plugins.

This way you can code - as example - PHP auto completion or python
support, and ship it as a plugin for anyone interested, without bloating
cssed.

- Plugin interface extension: will be added some functions to the
plugin's interface, to better fit on Win32.

- UIModules: I'm planning a generic interface to allow to show/hide
parts of the user interface by the user. It will be possible to use it
from plugins.

- External command support: I'm also planning some short of external
command support to run programs, pipe documents through external
commands, or catch the output from a external command to a new or opened
document.

This is the actual report on how things are going. If anyone miss
anything, or don't like some of those ideas, please post it here.

Some new features for the next release are right now in CVS.

* "Flag" menu: it let's you mark any document's label with some
pre-defined color.

* Document list: it shows a dialog with the currently opened documents
and let you make any of them active by double clicking.
You can also open the document list, close all documents without closing
the document list dialog, and re-open the documents you want with a
double click. It's planned that those document list could be saved and
loaded.

* Draggable documents: if you want to re-order the document's tabs for
grouping, you can drag a document's button over another document's
button, to move the dragged document to the position ocuped by the
dropped one. I know the button to button scheme is a little weird, but
in my tests when dragging from the label to label or button to label, I
got documents moved by mistake, just by accidentaly dragging the label
when trying to make the document active - so trying to clikc in the
label, not to drag it.

It also have been made changes in the filebrowser plugin, so it remember
the last opened directories between sessions. A dialog lets you manage
the directories list. It can be also tweaked by hand editing the
$HOME/.cssed/filebrowser file on Linux/OsX/Unix and
$HOME/cssed/filebrowser on Win32.=20

The format is really simple, a path per line.

A bug that made the document hang for a little and flicker when clicking
in the document's menu have also been solved.

If someone could comment/test those changes it would be a great help.

The draggable documents feature is being a little buggy in Win32 with
last GTK (2.4). No problems with other versions.

It seems a bug in the Windows version of GTK still to be found.

I'm afraid this problem could appear in other platforms.

Sergio Jovani have contributed the debian packages for this release,
that I did not build for the lack of a Debian system (mine died).

If anyone could test it and report success or failure, it could be a
great help.

I've thought a bit more about it. As I drop the maintainance of 10.2,=20
it is better to not insert it, this way there is no difference between=20=

builds 10.2 or 10.3 and a user on 10.2 can install it if he wants so=20
just by copying the info file.

Yes, I used it also when building and installing packages where I need
root access. In one plugins I su to root, meanwhile in the other I can
move files around with no need to chown them after the move.

Yes, that's always the problem. What do you think are the needs for the
"average" user. I think the best is to stuck on this.

It's up to you.

I don't ship the terminal in binary Linux builds to avoid one dependency
- somewhat stupid as the vte is in most Gtk enabled systems - but it's
in your hands to think if it's better in Mac to ship the built-in
terminal - as you've been doing - or not.

In the Spanish translation I've got the same "Terminal" y "Consola".

Only a small problem is if you have the terminal option and the plugin,=20=

both terminals are called console. What do you think about it? Should=20
not they be called differently?

No harm at all. They share the same code - I mean is tested - but I
ripped out the vte functions and wrote it down in the plugins code to
avoid clashes - instead of calling cssed functions from the plugin's
code that could lead on clashes between both terminal windows.

I've coded the plugin with this posibility in mind - and actually I'm
using both - the plugin and built-in vtes - with no problem.

--with-terminal option of cssed, you get two terminals. It seems to 
work fine, though could you confirm it does make any harm to have both 
enabled: a terminal via cssed and the plugin terminal loaded?

NEWS, and french translation stuff (configure.in, Makefile.am and 
fr.po.

I'm almost sure it'll work under X with the apropiated packages.

No need to make a variant as it's exactly the same app.

No, they don't appear under cssed.
I miss kinput2, canna, and so on. Then I cannot demand users to install=20=

them if they don't want to. I mean I can make a variant with Japanese,=20=

but that will be another software. Remember that in fink all compiled=20
package must be the same on whichever machine. So I'll guess if a user=20=

has the required packages installed, it will work.

What we need here is a Mac user who has those libraries installed and=20
can test cssed with them. I cannot do it properly since I'm unable to=20
read Japanese, so that if a glyph is wrong, I'm unable to know it.

Maybe once cssed is released, I'll make a call on fink users' mailing=20
list for a tester? What do you think of it?

Yes, it works perfectly under Mac OS X, but I cannot use it under X11.=20=

Maybe it works, and I'm just too silly to use it. This is the same=20
under bluefish by the way.
