Well, there's the new file selector.

How it works in OsX ?

It is new code in cssed (not an API upgrade the olf FileSelector is
still in GTK, to use the new you must rewrite the file selector code).

The UI shortcut is Ctrl + E + U (in C fallback language) in the spanish
one is Ctrl + E + D.=20

Those (built-in) shortcuts are Windows "legacy".=20

I can try to disable them but can not use two sets of shortcuts in the
same menu item.

May be a tooltip in the toolbar redo button ?

Just try "ga ge gi" those should be converted to katakana.

I mean when you type "ga" a single japanese character should appear.

Yes you need a Korean environment, but no need to change the whole
system environment just to change it in the console you're running the
app, or better. use a script to set up the environment and then launch
the app.

I use this script to test japanese input in cssed:

cssed &

What I don't know is how it works your - built-in - input method.

I can tell you how to set up an environment to use Japanese or Korean in
your system, but I supose it'll be useless for you, won't it ?=20

[cssed-devel] Internationalization in cssed

The problem remains that I cannot save a file under a korean name for=20
example from within cssed, because the save dialog falls under my=20
system language. Maybe it's possible on other systems or if I switch=20
completely to korean system language, but then I'm unable to do=20
anything since I don't understand anything :-).

I've made sort of test, though I don't know if it is what you want.

I've created a new file, choosen DBCS as document encoding, chosen=20
Kangul as character set, changen the police to #GungSeo, changed my=20
keyboard to Kangul, written some special characters, then those are=20
correctly displayed in cssed window.

When I close the file, then reopen it, I need to choose again DBCS as=20
encoding to have a correct display. I've noticed also that a blank line=20=

is always added when reopening the file (I'll guess this is what is=20
done for css files).

I've given the file the extension .txt, it may explain the behaviour.

But a IM is needed to write asian always. The only difference is I must
download it separately, and you've got it included in your system.

Could you test if it works on cssed ?

I mean *in* cssed, as your IM should you change the text on the document
on the fly (it's how it works now in cssed), no if it let you choose a
kanji and write it on any document.

I did not mentioned Cyrilic. We support Cyrillic ( and also Greek,
Coptic, Armenian, Hebrew, and Arabic)  with UTF-8, but no KOI8.

But ISO is ASCII, that's the ANSI standard  :)

All ISO character sets contain the normal ASCII characters at positions
32 to 126.

Japanese keyboards usually are bilingual.=20

As you can see, in the keyboard there are only few hiragana characters,
as there's no keyboard where it can fit the 3.000 kanjis needed to read
the  newspaper.

That's why input method programs (IM) are needed even with a japanese
keyboard.

IMs are called throught keystrokes.=20

Meanwhile you don't call the IM, it will not start to write Asian
characters.

So to write any non asian language, with Japanese keyboards, the user
just needs to type :)=20

On the mac, you can. We can change the language and the keyboard on the=20=

fly, then we have the whole unicode palette, and a, we have a special=20

No more adds but the proposed fixes in this release.

the end of this week.

The code will be frozen for translation on Wednesday.

unfreeze the code in CVS and apply the changes.
