Are you using the Apply button on the fonts panel when you change the font ? It's not very intuitive. It should change the label with the font used at the lower right of the font panel. If it the label changes but the document's font don't do it, or the font selected is not used on next boot, could you send me the file .cssed/cssed-cfg.xml in your home directory ? I'll forward the post so that the first bug could eventually be resolved in the next release ??? :-))) I've answered for the second one, the behaviour is normal, hope it's true. I have OS X 10.3.4 and I've used cssed 0.2.1 a little bit, and it works *fairly* well. I have noticed a couple of bugs, however; first, changes to the font in the preferences never stick. Also, if I go to the console in the bottom pane, the pane does not scroll down when the prompt moves, so I have to manually scroll; I don't have any other platform I can test it on, though, so I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. Other than that, I haven't noticed any problems. I hope that helps. :-) -- P. J. Reed "If you aren't voiding the warranty, you aren't even trying." http://sakabatou.net/ Hi! I'm a .sig virus! Sorry, forgot to send it to cssed list. Le 27 mai 2004, =E0 9:38, Zebest 4 U a =E9crit : As for the preferences, if you want to have them applied to the current=20= document change them in Document menu, but be aware this is only=20 temporary till the session closing. The copy/paste thing works only in editor, hence Ctrl-Z (which is=20 related to copy/paste) works also only in editor and only when the=20 focus is it: that's pretty normal behaviour. But drag and drop works in ScratchPad. So hightlight a part in=20 ScratchPad, drag and drop it elsewhere inside the ScratchPad works=20 (obviously you must have two parts for that to work). That's the normal behaviour, the copy/paste process occurs where you=20 are, unless you change the focus meanwhile: so if you are in the=20 editor, you copy/paste in the editor with Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V (or third mouse=20= button). To copy/paste elsewhere, just click inbetween in the=20 panel/location you want to paste into. That's what you do when you use=20= the third mouse button, you have to click where you want the copying=20 occurs, with Ctrl-V, you have first to do it. That's exactly the purpose of the ScratchPad, having at hand a visible=20= clipboard. If you want to copy some piece of text to/from the=20 ScratchPad, hightlight it and drag and drop it to the=20 ScratchPad/editor. As for the Ctrl-Z action, I cannot reproduce it. It works for me either=20= with right mouse button or Ctrl-V. You can also drag from the right panel (but not drag). This way you=20 copy the contents of the selector you're in to the Scratchpad with one=20= click. > - The search & replace window does not accept \t as a replacement text=20= > (put two characters \ and t instead of tab) but copying the tab from=20= > the editor window (selected text) works fine. I think i would have to go against this. If you install a binary package instead of source, you won't need the development libraries, and i think most things that cssed otherwise uses are very standard. Adding more weight to replace a package that is installed 99% of the time seems a bit pointless Regards, Alastair |

I registered to the sourceforge bug tracker but it may take long time before getting it so here are some bugs I found. But first, congratulation for this good work and thanks to share it with GPL. Bugs: - When having an opened doc and want to change the preferences, those apply not to the current one but to the next opened. - ScratchPad (copy to it): using the right mouse menu its fine, but the Crl+C copy the text inside the editor instead of the scratchPad. Very curiously, the Crl+z keys (to erase the newly wrongly added text in the stylesheet) do not work until you click first in the editor window. - The search & replace window does not accept \t as a replacement text (put two characters \ and t instead of tab) but copying the tab from the editor window (selected text) works fine. Whish list: - It would be nice to have a friendly space to tab or viceversa command. - It would also be great to extend the search & replace to several files (all the opened ones | directory) -File navigator: despite your explanation given in the user guide, please note that the new trend is to build web page with minimized html code, which means pages with small use of, or without tables. The consequence is to give ids to divs and other bloc tags and report positionning features to css. Having one stylesheet means BIG stylesheet to cover all the # positionning info. I am using one common stylesheet for the site plus roughtly one more styleshhet every two html pages whith contend # specific info. In this case the file browser appears very usefull (along with extended search & replace) Thanks again for this great job. King Regards, Patrick |

Could you please try this command (just copy and paste the following line in a console) ? pkg-config --cflags gtk+-2.0 If it have any output different than "gtk+-2.0 is not found" or "command not found", you've got the gtk development environment installed. You will have this problem if you try and install the Redhat/Fedora packages on a mandrake computer as the main packages (gtk, expat etc) have slightly different names. Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. I'm - almost - sure with the next version of cssed will be shiped a Win32 native installer (no need for cygwin nor X). regards. --=20 Iago Rubio =20 - Home page * http://www.iagorubio.com=20 - Last project * http://cssed.sourceforge.net =20 - GPG Keyserv * pgp.rediris.es id=3D0x909BD4DD |

Hi Jeremy, On Fri, 2004-04-23 at 02:28, Jeremy Guarini wrote: > Sorry about being so (extremely) late with this revision. > School has been much time consuming than I thought it would be :-( Don't worry, it's not late :) I've still pending to review the corrections made by Michelle, so don't worry. Now I'll merge both versions, add the new features and update it to 0.2.1, but it's a really anoying work, so I'm a bit lazy with documentation. > Please look it over and let me know what I would need to do to bring it > back up to date. Will do it, thanks :) Excuse me all who worked in the documentation for being so lazy ;) ITOH, what about an ebuild for the incoming - or this - version of cssed ? In Portage it's still 0.1, and it's a really outdated and unfeatured release.=20 It even have some ugly bugs that can lead in segfault. What do you think ? Hi all, just to notice, that the Windows port of cssed finally compiled and run, and should be ready for next release. Not great news, but at least we reached not just desktop independence but multi platform development. Now cssed runs on Linux, MacOsX and Win32. The code needed some changes and I'm not sure to commit them to CVS. To create an environment to make the changed sources compile is not easy and it's not portable. I mean, autotools didn't work in cygwin nor in msys, so I had to make a MSVC project that's not portable and only should be compiled with propietary tools ( Microsoft Visual C++ ). My doubt is: May I commit the changes to use only one source tree, or is better to upload a separated package with modified code for Windows ? In the other hand, I can also work to make it compile in msys with autotools and gcc. This way it could be built using only open source tools, but I'm not sure it deserve the effort. I don't know if I will maintain in sync the Windows version and main version ( Linux/MacOsX ). To work in windows is reeeeally boring ;) best regards --=20 Iago Rubio =20 - Home page * http://www.iagorubio.com=20 - Last project * http://cssed.sourceforge.net =20 - GPG Keyserv * pgp.rediris.es id=3D0x909BD4DD |
