I recieved an email today that I am unable to delete, move, or even mark as read. When looking at the mail, the From, To, CC, Subject, & Date fields display nothing in the Header Panel; the email is titled, and sent from somebody I know, and was sent at 10:26am according to the main display. I can read the email with no difficulties but I am unable to delete it and another with a similar problem. I am using CSCMail v1.7.8, with CSCHtml, and Postgres as my database. All other email deletes fine, except the above mentioned 2. Thankyou in advance, -- Regards, John Kennison Student (University of South Australia) |

Date: Mon Aug 07 17:47:00 EST 2000 (countzero) Fixed buggy attachment support... Now we show all attachments that a message contains, even if they do not have a recommended filename. This includes embedded messages, alternate views, and pretty much anything else. These attachments will have a fairly gibberish filename (like msg-30487-1.doc) ... you will have to view these attachments to determine their content, as they do not contain sufficent information for CSCMail to identify them. If they are embedded messages, you can save them and then import them into CSCMail if they contain nested attachments that you need to decode... -CZ -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Kordik st...@vo... You mean where it says "Path to Netscape" ? True, you can put any external web browser in there, but it will break a few lil things... We use Netscape's remote stuff to cause Netscape to load in a new window what link you click on, if you already have netscape running, and to launch a new netscape if you don't. I guess we should make it more generic... Have you put another HTML viewer in there besides Netscape and had it work? -CZ -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Kordik st...@vo... Meaning, we view message/rfc822 attachments as an entity to be saved and do not decode it. We also do not show attachments on the "save" menu if the header does not provide a filename (as these do not.) This is a "bug", and I will commit a fix for it today (to CSCMail 1.7.x) To handle such attachments, (when they are listed on the "Save" menu) you simply save them and then import them into CSCMail (since they are individual messages of themselves.) When you import them, CSCMail will treat them as a standalone message and decode them etc... (ie: if they then contain further attachments) -CZ -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Kordik st...@vo... Hi, Using version 1.6.1, sometimes I am not able to save attached files. I see the paperclip indicating there is some attached file, however choosing 'File | Save Attachments' does not show anything to save :-( Seems especially to accur when receiving mail from several MS-Outlook versions? Below I have included the message from which I can not read the attached file. By the way, I switched from CSV to mysql a couple of days before and really like the improvement!!! Ok, I got everything installed, sort of, the last portition of the install, asking to install the tar or rpm ,and then the location to install into, well it doesn't seem to copy any of the files into the correct location, even as root, so I did figure some things out, I put the cscget, csclock , cscmail, cscsend in /usr/bin, and put everything in cscmail-1.6.1 in /usr/lib/cscmail ( hehe ) The program did start, I setup an account, everything else was fine, I did a send a receive , I had some messages, but it seemed they were piped to /dev/null/ nothing was showing up in the inbox, here was some out put from the program: --------------SNIP ERROR: Date::Manip unable to determine TimeZone. Whomever is doing the BSD port is doing you guys a dis-service... All Gtk+ programs I am aware of run gtk-config --cflags to detect where to look for Gtk+ headers... I recommend renaming gtk12-config to gtk-config and seeing if that helps.. also make sure it's in your path... -CZ -- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GIT/CM d--(+) s+: a- C++++ UL++++$ P+++ L+++>++++ E--- W+++(--) N+ o? Ok it looks I had the unstable 1.3 version of GTK installed as well, that package was removed, Here is the output of the gtk config : gtk12-config --cflags -I/usr/X11R6/include/gtk12 -I/usr/local/include/glib12 -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/X11R6/include Some more code errors found, most likely from not being able to find Gtk, Located Gtk version ... If it doesn't match the location of the files, no programs that depend on Gtk+ will be able to find the headers... Also, it looks to me like you have a couple of different versions of Gtk+ installed. This is not a good thing. (Hint: there is no Gtk+ 2.0 yet) -CZ -- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GIT/CM d--(+) s+: a- C++++ UL++++$ P+++ L+++>++++ E--- W+++(--) N+ o? Hello, I have been trying to install cscmail for quite a while, it seems the error is always revolving around the gtk lib, This was the error when compiling gnome-perl/Gtk, MiscTypes.h:12: gtk/gtktypeutils.h: No such file or directory *** Error code 1 I have the file, /usr/X11R6/include/gtk-2.0/gtk/gtktypeutils.h /usr/X11R6/include/gtk12/gtk/gtktypeutils.h I have the Gtk libs installed : output from ldconfig -elf -r ldconfig -elf -r | grep gtk 102:-lgtk12.2 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libgtk12.so.2 126:-lgnorbagtk.3 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libgnorbagtk.so.3 127:-lgtkxmhtml.3 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libgtkxmhtml.so.3 134:-lobgtk.1 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libobgtk.so.1 142:-lgtk-x11-1.3.1 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libgtk-x11-1.3.so.1 Another error: build/GtkDefs.h:22: gtk/gtk.h: No such file or directory But this also relates to not finding the Gtk lib Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am stuck, do I have to edit the Makefiles for proper locations? Gtk version = gtk+-1.3.1 Installed from the latest ports under FreeBSD 4.1-Stable Thanks Adam ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 |

What version of CSCMail? What HTML widget? If using CSCMail 1.6.x I recommend upgrading to 1.7.x ... It is stable and the only reason it's not 1.8.0 is because I haven't had time to write nice upgrade scripts. If using XmHTML try upgrading to GtkHTML. XmHTML is very buggy, and crashes on quite a few HTML mails. -CZ -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Kordik st...@vo... I just installed cscmail today and it`s perfect for me except for one thing: I get weekly newsletters from CD NOW! which have lots of html pictures embedded. CSCMail simply quits when it tries to display it, and the terminal reports this: [.. etc ..] http://images4.postdirect.com/master-images/400338/spacer.gif: No such file or directory http://images4.postdirect.com/master-images/400338/spacer.gif: No such file or directory http://images4.postdirect.com/master-images/400338/JasonOlim_signa.gif: No such file or directory http://images4.postdirect.com/master-images/400338/spacer.gif: No such file or directory http://images4.postdirect.com/master-images/400338/bordertop.gif: No such file or directory Assertion failed: html->html.anchors[i].base != NULL (file layout.c, line 458) Aborted I can`t view or even delete these mails. Any solution to this? -- nov...@bi... |
