We will almost certainly meet our target of 21st May - the only caveat is that it makes more sense to do the 'Title tag fix' after the Look and Feel. Alexis can elaborate if anybody is bored enough to want the SP. What does the first *Timestamp and major milestone* mean? We see the milestone being 21st may when all our stuff will have been added. I don't think there is one in the middle of all this guff. In any case we've passed this already! adam -- Adam Marshall: OUCS, 13, Banbury Rd. Oxford OX2 6NN. I found these docs at bod.org*. Jon wrote them to help people understand the CSS stuff he wrote! (I'd forgotten about them, but thought they might be useful next time we look at the CSS...) I have removed the stylesheet methods from Facility on WebLearn HEAD and it reduces the size of Facility by ~3000 lines. Now the problem is that WebLearn HEAD was based on CLAN L&F (Look and Feel) and I didn't realise that CLAN L&F changed the stylesheet methods. Is there a very short description of what was changed with the stylesheet stuff and why? Should I just commit back the WebLearn stylesheet changes as we are going to moving to the CLAN L&F anyway? Otherwise I can have a go at doing the refactoring of Stylesheets out of Facility again but this time on Bodington HEAD, but this will take longer and will probably disapear as soon as the CLAN L&F goes on. I've added some requests for enhancements to the SourceForge tracker: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=87659&atid=583931 They are a small selection from a list of requests we got from Ed Hart. I've chosen the ones I think are do-able, but please add comments. For a couple of them we already have a solution at Oxford (thanks to Antony), should these go into 2.6? - Remove username prefix requirement. - Moderation of communication room posts. I've pushed the Log4J patch onto Bodington HEAD. As the WebLearn HEAD was quite different from Bodington HEAD when I did the orginal Log4J patch I had to redo a fair ammount of work (several hours). I don't think I made any mistakes but if anything doesn't look right please yell. I have not changed the log messages that were commented out. All logging is now done through static loggers in each class, eg: private static Logger log = Logger.getLogger(ThisClass.class); I have also commited my ServletAppender that attempts to log log4j messages through the servlet conrtext log() method. However it seems that when a container is using log4j the logging messages end up in a loop (I was getting this with Tomcat 5.5). So at the moment the ServletAppender is not used. -- +--Matthew Buckett-----------------------------------------+ | VLE Developer, Learning Technologies Group | | Tel: +44 (0) 1865 283660 http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ | +------------Computing Services, University of Oxford------+ |

I have a very alpha version of an Oxford WAR file with HSQLDB support. http://users.ox.ac.uk/~buckett/bodington-quick.war This is nowhere near finished but is does run. Notes: - You should NOT run SetupServlet as everything is automatically picked up from the context. - This may not work in some servlet containers due to the abuses of the specs (I've only tested in Tomcat 5.0). - The HSQLDB database is precreated. - Standard username password sysadmin/sysadmin. - Context reloading might be a bit flakey. All this code it currently only on the WebLearn HEAD but I will begin pushing it over onto the Bodington HEAD over the next few weeks. Enjoy the weekend. -- +--Matthew Buckett-----------------------------------------+ | VLE Developer, Learning Technologies Group | | Tel: +44 (0) 1865 283660 http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ | +------------Computing Services, University of Oxford------+ |
