Guys, Is a mini-release (0.4.5.1 ?) containing asterisk 1.2.18 in the near future? Asterisk 1.2.18 fixes a "security vulnerability in the SIP channel driver". Lonnie |

After much trouble I managed to compile 1.4 branch (asterisk-beta). Some packages wouldn't compile (I had to update them to newer versions), and also there were some problems with asterisk.mk file. I'll try this tomorrow, but it looks like it should work with no problem. I could get a connection to start if I manually created the files. There have been some issues with PPPoe, that I hope to get corrected. I need to better determine the problem and may need some assistance from users to get there. First, does anyone have a working PPPoE installation using Astlinux? If so, what did you need to modify to get it working? Defining EXTIF as ppp0 and setting the variables PPPOEUSER, PPPOEPASS and PPPOEIF should result in a configuration file being generated in /tmp/etc/ppp but nothing is generated. Let's get this corrected! Darrick -- Darrick Hartman DJH Solutions, LLC http://www.djhsolutions.com |

Why do you need to reboot your server at 4am? There is no reason an astlinux box should require rebooting. If it does, there is a bigger problem that should be solved. Nedi: I have similar issues with the LEX Neo systems I like to use ... What I did is edit the GRUB.CONF file in the //ROOT/BOOT section to include the following ... **************************************************************************** ********** title AstLinux (Lex Neo - Boot IDE-2m, USB KeyDisk) root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hdc1 astlinux=i586 astkd=/dev/sda1 ide=nodma savedefault **************************************************************************** ********** What this does is tell the OS to use the first partition of the secondary ide controller as the boot device and use the first partition of the first USB device for the KeyDisk ... Asterisk 1.4 is currently in testing in AstLinux in the asterisk-beta branch in Subversion. You could build a bootable image from that branch to support SMS via app_sms. I don't know much about app_sms but it appears that it relies on ISDN features that aren't well supported in the US. Is this for Europe or US use (maybe somewhere else)? -- Kristian Kielhofner |

So we cannot use free services for that. (Thanks Aleks for the "freebie" info, very useful for private use.) Any suggestions what we could use? Thanks, Marcus |

Marcus, you best bet for free SMS is to send them via email. many carriers do something like this: (Phone #)@gsmportal.carrier.com in this case, sendmail should work just fine ;) Aleks On 5/6/07, Marcus <li...@wo...> wrote: > > How can add SMS sending to Astlinux? > > Which program do you recommend? > > Thanks, > > Marcus > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express > Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take > control of your XML. I believe this was a result of moving to php5 (and probably would exist with later versions of php4 as the result of some security fix). You can still get to the parent folders if you specify them explicitly. Darrick -- Darrick Hartman DJH Solutions, LLC http://www.djhsolutions.com |
