High Resolution Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of Two-Phase Flows
...This flow solver has been developed by Lennon Ó Náraigh (Mathematical Sciences, University College Dublin), Prashant Valluri (Engineering, University of Edinburgh), David Scott, Toni Collis and Iain Bethune (EPCC at the University of Edinburgh) and Peter Spelt (Université de Lyon1, Claude Bernard) under the aegis of several HECToR / ARCHER / ARCHER2 computer time grants, dCSE/eCSE programmes and the EU project EXCELLERAT. The Diffuse Interface Method is now used as the primary method of locating the interface. Evaporation and condensation can now be modelled. Domains with up to 300,000,000 cells have been simulated. We also provide a simplified version of the code 'S-TPLS' to help new users understand the code structure and algorithms. The next step will be to include a model of boiling. -
