Data integrity is a good thing. Constraining the values allowed by your application at the database level, rather than at the application level, is a more robust way of ensuring your data stays sane. Unfortunately, ActiveRecord doesn't encourage (or even allow) you to use database integrity without resorting to hand-crafted SQL. Rein (pronounced "rain") adds a handful of methods to your ActiveRecord migrations so that you can easily tame the data in your database. All methods in the DSL are automatically reversible, so you can take advantage of reversible Rails migrations. -

It uses rubocop -A to apply Style/FrozenStringLiteralComment and other unsafe autocorretion cops. rubocop -A is unsafe autocorrection, but code generated by default is simple and less likely to be incompatible with rubocop -A. If you have problems you can replace it with rubocop -a instead. -

If you'd like to help maintain a well-used gem please spend some time reviewing pull requests, issues, or participating in discussions. VCR will replay the response from iana.org when the HTTP request is made. This test is now fast (no real HTTP requests are made anymore), deterministic (the test will continue to pass, even if you are offline, or iana.org goes down for maintenance) and accurate (the response will contain the same headers and body you get from a real request). You can use a different cassette library directory (e.g., "test/vcr_cassettes"). The recorded requests and responses are stored on disk in a serialization format of your choice (currently YAML and JSON are built in, and you can easily implement your own custom serializer) and can easily be inspected and edited. -

CarrierWave gives you a store for permanent storage, and a cache for temporary storage. You can use different stores, including filesystem and cloud storage. Most of the time you are going to want to use CarrierWave together with an ORM. It is quite simple to mount uploaders on columns in your model, so you can simply assign files and get going. Make sure you are loading CarrierWave after loading your ORM, otherwise you'll need to require the relevant extension manually. Now you can cache files by assigning them to the attribute, they will automatically be stored when the record is saved. CarrierWave also has convenient support for multiple file upload fields. Add a column which can store an array. This could be an array column or a JSON column for example. Your choice depends on what your database supports. -
