if-me.org is a community for mental health experiences that encourages people to share their personal stories with trusted allies. Trusted allies are the people we interact with on a daily basis, including friends, family members, co-workers, teachers, and mental health workers. Dealing with mental health is what makes us human. But for a lot of us, it's a struggle to be open about it. Not everyone is a counselor or therapist. The people who we interact with every day shape our emotions and behavior. Catches mail and serves it through a dream. MailCatcher runs a super simple SMTP server that catches any message sent to it to display in a web interface. Run mailcatcher, set your favorite app to deliver to smtp://127.0.0.1:1025 instead of your default SMTP server, then check it out to see the mail that's arrived so far. Shows HTML, Plain Text and Source version of messages, as applicable. Rewrites HTML enabling display of embedded, inline images/etc and opens links in a new window. Command-line options to override the default SMTP/HTTP IP and port settings. Mail appears instantly if your browser supports WebSockets, otherwise updates every thirty seconds. Sendmail-analogue command, catchmail, makes using mailcatcher from PHP a lot easier. Encodings are difficult. MailCatcher does not completely support utf-8 straight over the wire, you must use a mail library that encodes things properly based on SMTP server capabilities.

css-only-chat is a proof-of-concept demonstration that implements a functioning chat interface using only HTML and CSS, without any JavaScript or backend logic. The project showcases creative use of CSS selectors, checkboxes, labels, and the :checked pseudo-class to mimic interactive behaviors normally handled by JavaScript. Messages are pre-written in the HTML and displayed based on user interaction, making it more of a playful experiment than a real messaging platform. Its main purpose is to illustrate the limits of CSS as a programming and UI tool, serving as both an educational example and a bit of humor within the developer community. By pushing CSS beyond its conventional role, it demonstrates how user interfaces can be simulated through styling tricks and static structures. Although not suitable for production use, it stands as a fun exercise in front-end creativity and unconventional coding challenges.

This gem provides a simple and extremely flexible way to upload files from Ruby applications. It works well with Rack based web applications, such as Ruby on Rails. CarrierWave gives you a store for permanent storage, and a cache for temporary storage. You can use different stores, including filesystem and cloud storage. Most of the time you are going to want to use CarrierWave together with an ORM. It is quite simple to mount uploaders on columns in your model, so you can simply assign files and get going. Make sure you are loading CarrierWave after loading your ORM, otherwise you'll need to require the relevant extension manually. Now you can cache files by assigning them to the attribute, they will automatically be stored when the record is saved. CarrierWave also has convenient support for multiple file upload fields. Add a column which can store an array. This could be an array column or a JSON column for example. Your choice depends on what your database supports.
