When importing your posts and pages from, say, Tumblr, it's annoying and impractical to create new pages in the proper subdirectories. Redirects are performed by serving an HTML file with an HTTP-REFRESH meta tag which points to your destination. No .htaccess file, nginx conf, xml file, or anything else will be generated. It simply creates HTML files. -

Lolcat
Rainbows and unicorns
Lolcat is a command-line tool that colorizes terminal output by printing text in rainbow gradients. Inspired by the original Ruby “lolcat” project, it takes input from stdin or files and outputs the same text with colorful ANSI escape codes. It’s frequently used to add a playful touch to logs, help messages, or shell scripts, making otherwise mundane terminal output more fun. Options allow customizing color spread, speed, and randomization to create different rainbow effects. Lolcat is often piped into commands like cat, figlet, or fortune to create whimsical and eye-catching console art. Despite being lighthearted in purpose, it demonstrates the use of ANSI codes and stream manipulation in a clean, portable way. -

After you successfully installed the theme on your computer you can add additional blog posts by creating new files in the _posts directory. The new files have to follow the name convention year-month-day-title.md. -

Mongoid
Ruby ODM framework for MongoDB
Mongoid is the officially supported ODM (Object-Document-Mapper) framework for MongoDB in Ruby. This Mongoid community organization is a group of open-source contributors around the Mongoid ODM not affiliated with the company, MongoDB. Mongoid is customarily configured through a mongoid.yml file that specifies options and clients. The simplest configuration is as follows, which configures Mongoid to talk to a MongoDB server at “localhost:27017” and use the database named “mongoid”. If you are not using Ruby on Rails, Mongoid configuration must be loaded manually. This can be done via the Mongoid.load! method, which takes the configuration file path as its argument. It is also possible to configure Mongoid directly in Ruby, without using a configuration file. This configuration style does not support the concept of environments - whatever configuration is provided, it is applied to the current environment, but it does support defining multiple clients. -

Neat also works great with Bourbon and Bitters, They are all lightweight and easy to work with so it’s a blast to try them out and see if they’re right for your next project. If you need multiple grids in a single project, you can do this by defining a new map stored within a variable of your choosing. This variable can then be passed directly into any of Neat's mixins. Custom grids are especially useful with grid-media. By defining a media attribute within your custom grid, you are able to easily define gutter width and total column count as well as the breakpoint at which they should activate. Creates collapsed grid object that consumes the gutters of its container, for use in nested layouts. -

There are a lot of tools in that space, so why did we build Pedestal? We had two main reasons. Pedestal is designed for APIs first. Most web app frameworks still focus on the "page model" and server-side rendering. Pedestal lets you start simple and add that if you need it. Pedestal makes it easy to create "live" applications. Applications must respond with immediate feedback even while some back-end communication goes on. Pedestal makes it easy to deliver server-sent events and asynchronous updates. Pedestal works with a huge variety of containers and deployment options. Deploy applications or microservices on unikernels, Docker containers, or JAR files. Pedestal supports Tomcat, Jetty, Immutant (with Undertow), Vert.x, nginx, and Netty. -

Self-hosted, super simple photo stream. We like to take photos and share them. Problem is it's hard to really own your photos and how they're represented across social media these days, so we set out to make a place for them. You host it yourself, wherever you want (Netlify, Github Pages...), you're in control. Previously the recommended way to install Photo Stream was to fork the repository. In my opinion, this was not really optimal and being a fan of Docker I began working on optimizations to run Photo Stream in a container. That's why configuration has been moved from _config.yml to .env so when switching from the initial repo you will have to set up the .env file accordingly. -

Extensive text rendering support, including flowing text and limited inline formatting options. Comprehensive internationalization features, including full support for UTF-8 based fonts, right-to-left text rendering, fallback font support, and extension points for customizable text wrapping. Support for PDF outlines for document navigation. Low level PDF features, allowing users to create custom extensions by dropping down all the way to the PDF object tree layer. (Mostly useful to those with knowledge of the PDF specification). If you are looking for a highly flexible PDF document generation system, Prawn might be the tool for you. It is not a reporting tool or a publishing toolchain, though it could be fairly easily used to build those things. -

quine-relay is an esoteric programming project that produces a single program which, when run, outputs the same program in another programming language; and that next-language version, when run, outputs itself in yet another language—and so on—cycling through many languages until returning to the original. It is effectively a “relay” of quines across dozens (or hundreds) of languages. The repository contains implementations, translation scaffolding, and carefully crafted code for each hand-rolled segment so the program maintains correctness across languages. Achieving this requires delicate handling of language-specific quoting, escaping, and code-gen tricks, making it a showcase of language theory, compiler insight, and meta-programming prowess. It is largely a playful, academic exercise exploring the limits of language interoperability and quine construction rather than a utility tool. -

It helps keep our site reliable, so we can spend more energy building better features. We’re glad to make it publicly available to the open-source community. -
