    GitLab

    GitLab

Please open new issues in our issue tracker on GitLab

GitLab is a single-application DevOps platform that brings source control, CI/CD, package registries, security scanning, and deployment pipelines under one roof to accelerate software delivery. Built around Git repositories and merge-request workflows, it tightly integrates continuous integration, automated testing, code review, and release orchestration so teams can move from idea to production within a unified UI and policy model. GitLab’s features extend into the operational lifecycle—container registries, infrastructure as code, monitoring dashboards, and incident management—allowing platform teams to define guardrails and compliance as code across projects and groups. It supports extensive automation via pipelines, runners, webhooks, and a comprehensive REST/GraphQL API, enabling complex workflows like canary deployments, feature flagging, and security scanning as part of merge request gates.

    Ruby

    Ruby

    Ruby programming language

A dynamic, open source programming language with a focus on simplicity and productivity. It has an elegant syntax that is natural to read and easy to write. Ruby is a language of careful balance. Its creator, Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto, blended parts of his favorite languages (Perl, Smalltalk, Eiffel, Ada, and Lisp) to form a new language that balanced functional programming with imperative programming. He has often said that he is “trying to make Ruby natural, not simple,” in a way that mirrors life. Since its public release in 1995, Ruby has drawn devoted coders worldwide. In 2006, Ruby achieved mass acceptance. With active user groups formed in the world’s major cities and Ruby-related conferences filled to capacity. Ruby-Talk, the primary mailing list for discussion of the Ruby language, climbed to an average of 200 messages per day in 2006. It has dropped in recent years as the size of the community pushed discussion from one central list into many smaller groups.

    Gumroad

    Gumroad

Sell stuff and see what sticks

This repository contains the source code for Gumroad’s e-commerce platform, exposing how a modern creator-focused storefront and payments system is assembled. The app models products, variants, subscriptions, and checkout flows, then ties them to fulfillment, licensing, and customer communications. It implements typical marketplace concerns—order management, refunds, discounts, taxes, fraud checks, and analytics—through well-defined services and background jobs. The UI offers product pages, carts, and dashboards for creators to manage listings and see performance, while APIs/webhooks enable integrations with external sites and automation. The codebase demonstrates practical patterns for multi-tenant architecture, permissions, testing, and asynchronous processing at scale. For engineers, it’s both a working marketplace and a study in how to balance flexibility for creators with reliability in payments and delivery.

    Jbuilder

    Jbuilder

Generate JSON objects with a Builder-style DSL

Jbuilder gives you a simple DSL for declaring JSON structures that beats manipulating giant hash structures. This is particularly helpful when the generation process is fraught with conditionals and loops. You can either use Jbuilder stand-alone or directly as an ActionView template language. When required in Rails, you can create views à la show.json.jbuilder (the json is already yielded). Fragment caching is supported, it uses Rails.cache and works like caching in HTML templates. If your collection cache depends on multiple sources (try to avoid this to keep things simple), you can name all these dependencies as part of a block that returns an array.

    Chromebrew

    Chromebrew

    Package manager for Chrome OS

The Missing Package Manager For Chrome OS. Chromebooks with ChromeOS run a Linux kernel. The only missing pieces to use as a full-featured Linux distro were gcc and make with their dependencies. Well, these pieces aren't missing anymore. Say hello to Chromebrew. In fact, Chromebrew is a simple Ruby script. There's also some Git involved, so we needed both of these things to run it on a bare Chrome OS. We have prebuilt them along with their dependencies to install into your system during installation. So, basically, after installing Chromebrew, you will have fully functional Ruby with Rubygems, Git, and a package manager dedicated just to your Chromebook.

    Pro Git

    Pro Git

    Pro Git 2nd Edition

Welcome to the second edition of the Pro Git book. The entire Pro Git book, written by Scott Chacon and Ben Straub and published by Apress, is available here. All content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 3.0 license. Print versions of the book are available on Amazon.com. What is “version control”, and why should you care? Version control is a system that records changes to a file or set of files over time so that you can recall specific versions later. For the examples in this book, you will use software source code as the files being version controlled, though in reality you can do this with nearly any type of file on a computer. If you are a graphic or web designer and want to keep every version of an image or layout (which you would most certainly want to), a Version Control System (VCS) is a very wise thing to use.
