oomwoo is an open-source robot vacuum project designed for people who want to build their own home cleaning robot. It combines Raspberry Pi, ROS2, Home Assistant, 2D LiDAR, ESP32, Arduino, and 3D printing into a community-buildable platform. The project aims to avoid vendor lock-in by keeping the hardware, software, and firmware open. It is designed around local control, with no cloud required for regular operation. The roadmap includes autonomous navigation, mapping, a documented 3D-printable chassis, firmware, motor drivers, sensor electronics, and ROS2 packages. The project is still in an early design and RFC stage, so it is best understood as a build-in-public hardware and robotics initiative rather than a finished consumer product.

Dummy-Robot is an open source robotics project by Peng Zhihui that showcases the design and implementation of a compact robotic arm . The repository contains full hardware design files, firmware, control software, and 3D models. It includes components such as a gripper, LED light ring PCB, wireless spatial positioning controller, and a portable case. The project demonstrates advanced engineering with stepper motor drivers, custom controllers, and debugging tools. While the original version is CNC-machined, a simplified 3D-printable "youth edition" is planned to lower costs. This project serves as both an educational resource and a demonstration of innovative DIY robotics.

Critterding is a "Petri dish" universe in 3D that demonstrates evolving artificial life. Critters start out with completely random brains and bodies, but will automatically start evolving into something with much better survival skills.

openPOWERLINK is an Open Source Industrial Ethernet stack for communication in hard real-time. It can be operated as both, Managing Node (master) and Controlled Node (slave). With version 2.0, the source code has been cleanly split into an application-oriented user library and a time-critical stack driver. The latter may be moved to a dedicated communication processor or into a kernel module to deliver enhanced performance while still keeping the API in user space.
