VirtualBox is a powerful open-source full virtualization software that allows a user to run one or more “guest” operating systems simultaneously inside “virtual machines” on a single physical “host” machine. It supports a wide variety of host platforms (Linux, Windows, macOS, Solaris, etc.) and guest OSes, enabling, for example, running Linux on a Windows PC, running Windows Server on a Linux host, or even legacy OSes in a controlled environment. This flexibility makes VirtualBox ideal for developers, testers, sysadmins, or hobbyists who need different OS environments, want to test software across systems, or need isolation for development, sandboxing, or security experiments. VirtualBox offers both a user-friendly GUI as well as a command-line interface and headless mode, making it useful for desktop usage as well as server or automated environments.

ipmiutil is an easy to use set of IPMI server management utilities. It can get/set sensor readings & thresholds, automate SEL management, do SOL console, etc. Supports Linux, Windows, BSD, Solaris, MacOSX. The only IPMI project tool that runs natively on Windows. See ipmiutil.sf.net for rpms, etc. (formerly called panicsel). It can run driverless in Linux for use on boot media or embedded environments.

UFTP is an encrypted multicast file transfer program, designed to securely, reliably, and efficiently transfer files to multiple receivers simultaneously. This is useful for distributing large files to a large number of receivers, and is especially useful for data distribution over a satellite link (with two way communication), where the inherent delay makes any TCP based communication highly inefficient. The multicast encryption scheme is based on TLS with extensions to allow multiple receivers to share a common key. UFTP also has the capability to communicate over disjoint networks separated by one or more firewalls (NAT traversal) and without full end-to-end multicast capability (multicast tunneling) through the use of a UFTP proxy server. These proxies also provide scalability by aggregating responses from a group of receivers.

Privoxy is a non-caching web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for enhancing privacy, modifying web page data and HTTP headers, controlling access, and removing ads and other obnoxious Internet junk. Privoxy has a flexible configuration and can be customized to suit individual needs and tastes. It has application for both stand-alone systems and multi-user networks.

Netatalk is a freely-available Open Source AFP fileserver. A *NIX/*BSD system running Netatalk is capable of serving many Macintosh clients simultaneously as an AppleShare file server (AFP).

libivykis is a thin wrapper over various OS'es implementation of I/O readiness notification facilities (such as poll(2), kqueue(2)) and is mainly intended for writing portable high-performance network servers.

Ganglia is a scalable distributed monitoring system for high-performance computing systems such as clusters and Grids. It is based on a hierarchical design targeted at federations of clusters. Supports clusters up to 2000 nodes in size.

This project implements a simple STUN server and client on Windows, Linux, and Solaris. The STUN protocol (Simple Traversal of UDP through NATs) is described in the IETF RFC 3489, available at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3489.txt

Conky is a free, light-weight system monitor for X, that displays any kind of information on your desktop. Conky is free software and runs in X on Linux and BSD. Originally a fork of Torsmo, Conky's torsmo-based code is BSD licensed. New code in Conky has been licensed under GPL 3.0. Since its inception, Conky has changed significantly from its predecessor, while maintaining simplicity and configurability. Conky can display just about anything, either on your root desktop, in its own window. Not only does Conky have many built-in objects, it can also display just about any piece of information by using scripts and other external programs. A plethora of OS stats (uname, uptime, CPU usage, mem usage, disk usage, "top" like process stats, and network monitoring, just to name a few). Conky can display information either as text, or using simple progress bars and graph widgets, with different fonts and colours.

Siproxd is a proxy/masquerading daemon for the SIP protocol. It allows SIP clients (softphones & hardphones) to work behind an IP masquerading firewall or router.

tcpreplay is a suite of tools to edit and replay captured network traffic.

pcapsipdump is libpcap-based SIP sniffer with per-call sorting capabilities. It writes SIP/RTP sessions to disk in a same format, as "tcpdump -w", but one file per SIP session (even if there is thousands of concurrent SIP sessions). Getting started: http://pcapsipdump.sf.net/

Netdiscover is a network address discovering tool that was developed mainly for those wireless networks without DHCP servers, though it also works on wired networks. It sends ARP requests and sniffs for replies.

LCDproc controls various LCD and VFD devices in a standardized way, and ships with a client to display various system statistics. Supports multiple platforms (Linux, *BSD, Solaris). Client/server model allows multiple clients to use one display.

SS5 is a socks server for Linux, Solaris and FreeBSD environment, that implements the SOCKS v4 and v5 protocol.

cdpr is used to decode a Cisco Disovery Protocol (CDP) packet, by default it will report the device ID, the IP Address (of the device), and the port number that the machine is connected to. Optionally it will decode the entire CDP packet.

BWPing is a tool to measure bandwidth and response times between two hosts using Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request/echo reply mechanism. It does not require any special software on the remote host. The only requirement is the ability to respond on ICMP echo request messages. BWPing supports both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
