    WSJT-X Improved
WSJT-X_IMPROVED is published by Uwe Risse, DG2YCB. It is an enhanced edition of the excellent WSJT-X software by Joe Taylor K1JT, Steve Franke K9AN, Bill Somerville G4WJS, myself and others (https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt/) that provides several additional features and improvements, as well as more frequent updates and bug fixes. Notes: wsjt-x_improved is experimental and is licensed under GNU GPL v3 (https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.txt). I am not aware of any adverse effects. However, use it at your own risk! Subscribe to the mailing list: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt-x-improved/lists/wsjt-x-improved-community. WSJT

    WSJT

    Weak signal ham radio communication

The WSJT project implements software for amateur radio communication using state-of-the-art digital techniques. Typical applications involve "DXing" at LF, MF, HF, and VHF+ frequencies, including meteor scatter and EME ("moonbounce"). Major emphasis is placed on weak-signal techniques. Summary Program Descriptions: WSJT-X supports the communication protocols FST4, FT4, FT8, JT4, JT9, JT65, Q65, MSK144, WSPR, FST4W, and Echo, each optimized for different sorts of radio-wave propagation. MAP65 and QMAP are designed for EME at VHF and higher frequencies. MAP65 provides a panoramic, polarization-matching receiver for the Q65 and JT65. modes. QMAP works together with WSJT-X to provide a panoramic receiver for Q65 modes covering a 90 kHz sub-band. Programs WSJT and WSPR are interesting primarily for historical reasons. They are superseded by WSJT-X.

    Nexus Ham Radio

    Nexus Ham Radio

All-mode ham radio operations center: 9 modes TX, APRS, awards

Nexus puts the whole ham station in one modern app: FT8/FT4 with WSJT-X-grade sequencing plus Q65, FST4, FST4W, MSK144, JT65 and WSPR all transmitting, RTTY, SSTV, APRS, SSB/FM phone, and CW with a neural-net decoder. The rig's own RF panadapter streams into the cockpit on native-CI-V Icom and FlexRadio. The waterfall pauses and rewinds. Route each band and mode to the radio that does it best, across up to three rigs. Awards (DXCC, WAS, WAZ, VUCC, IOTA) compute offline, and an eQSL or QRZ match never inflates an LoTW-grade award. Propagation uses a native ITU-R P.533 port and scores openings on receivers near you, not the global firehose. APRS draws real station symbols, decodes weather reports, connects to APRS-IS, and runs a receive-only iGate. Speaks WSJT-X's UDP protocol byte-for-byte, so GridTracker and JTAlert keep working. Its FT8/FT4 decode floor measures -21.3 dB against stock WSJT-X's -20.7 on identical audio. Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi. GPL-3.0, by KD9TAW.

    echoes

    echoes

Echoes is a radio spectral analysis software for SDR devices

Echoes it's a radio spectral analysis software for SDR devices, designed for meteor scattering purposes. The older releases supported only RTL-SDR devices. They are very cheap SDR based on DVB-T TV tuner dongles based on Realtek's RTL2832U chipset. Starting from 0.50 Echoes embeds SoapySDR allowing the support of many other SDRs. Echoes doesn't demodulate neither decode any human-made signal. Its main goal is to analyze and record the total power of natural signals and generate screenshots and tabular data (CSV,) output in presence of particular peaks in a selected narrow range of frequencies. Since there is no demodulation, there is no provision for audio listening, except for a notify sound when an event has been recorded. Finally, Echoes can also operate getting an audio input, thus producing audio spectra. This way, Echoes can also be used with traditional receivers.

    Skywave Linux

    Skywave Linux

Global Software Defined Radio at Your Fingertips

Updated 2026/01/24: Turn your PC into the ultimate shortwave radio. Skywave Linux is an X86, 64 bit live environment configured for accessing internet accessible software defined radio receivers. With this operating system, you may tune in popular stations or amateur radio, aeronautical, maritime, or other signals received at remote internet servers around the world. For a live map of the best KiwiSDR and WebSDR servers and a nice "click to tune" interface, Use the installed SDR-Map utility to find radio servers and listen from interesting places. Also, I have set up a self-updating SDR Map at https://rx.skywavelinux.com. An internet radio streamer application is also included for popular studio streams. Bring it up with keys [Super] + [S]. SDR software is configured to operate with popular plug-in devices, such as the RTL-SDR dongles, Airspy, and, HackRF radios. Skywave Linux is built on Debian Sid. It is primarily a live environment, but can be fully installed.
